Pistons Need Jackson Healthy to Make Run in Playoffs
Losing the point guard for a significant period of time would be a devastating loss for this playoff-bound Pistons team. He and Andre Drummond are the two driving forces of the offense, and Jackson is turning in one of the best seasons of his career on that side of the floor.
While he was often overshadowed by Russell Westbrook in his early days with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jackson has shined since coming to Detroit. He posted 17.6 points and 9.2 assists a game in 27 contests with the Pistons in 2014-15 and continued that impact play this season with 18.8 points and 6.2 assists per night this season.
Jackson can shoot the three, work pick-and-rolls with Drummond and attack the basket with an explosive first step.
Steve Blake is a solid backup option, but he isn't someone who can be an electrifying scorer and carry a team on his back. Having Jackson back not only adds a lift to the starting lineup, but also gives the second unit a boost with Blake sliding back into his role off the bench.
