Super Bowl 50: Panthers vs. Broncos Opening Night Location, TV Schedule, Times
One of the traditions in the lead-up to the Super Bowl every year was media day, which traditionally took place on Tuesday morning and featured team interviews, a cast of wacky characters and odd questions throughout the proceedings.
While much will remain the same this year, the NFL rebranded the event as the prime-time Super Bowl Opening Night and moved the event to Monday evening.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
| Monday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. ET | SAP Center in San Jose, CA | NFL Network | NFL.com |
The Denver Broncos will be interviewed first at approximately 8:15 p.m. ET, with the Carolina Panthers to follow at 10:15 p.m. ET, according to NFL.com.
Musical performances and cheerleader appearances will also highlight the event.
Of course, this event has also become a spectacle for the bizarre. Who could forget a woman in a wedding dress proposing to Tom Brady (who politely declined)?
Or Marshawn Lynch insisting to reporters that he was only present so he didn't get fined? Or what about Shannon Sharpe and Ray Buchanan essentially trading barbs about how ugly the other guy was?
And, of course, you can't forget about all of the people in bizarre costumes. Dan Hanzus of NFL.com remembered one such character from a year ago:
Jason Gay of the Wall Street Journal thinks the spectacle gets it just right:
There will be serious questions as well, though. Peyton Manning will likely be barraged with a litany of questions about whether he'll retire after the game, what his legacy should be after his career ends and whether he thinks he's still capable of winning another title.
Cam Newton, meanwhile, will likely field questions about his on-field celebrations, Denver's excellent offense and whether being such large favorites—the odds currently have Carolina (minus-6) as the favorites, according to Odds Shark—will dull the team's mental edge.
It's hard not to see one of the primary storylines of this game as a passing of the torch from one generation of quarterbacks like Manning and Tom Brady to the next, led by players like Newton, Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck.
Luckily, no storyline goes unexplored at Opening Night, and many of the expected angles will feature as well. For diehard sports fans with a sense of humor, it can't be missed.
