Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and More from the Cautious Mailbag
After a great Royal Rumble and a hot week of wrestling, I decided to have fun in this week's mailbag and accept questions in all-caps. Some of you obliged.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The Daniel Bryan situation is a delicate one. Despite what some fans may think, WWE would kill to have a healthy Daniel Bryan right now, given their depth issues. Bryan was a sleeper candidate as a surprise Royal Rumble entrant and was even listed as a potential competitor according to the odds on Odds Shark.
As a surprise entrant in the Rumble, Bryan would have received the biggest pop of the year. Still, WWE would then have to deal with the pesky Yes Movement and another potential hijack situation, had he been eliminated.
WWE has to tread lightly with Bryan, given his concussion history. Although Bryan claims to have been cleared by independent doctors, as noted by ESPN Cheap Heat (h/t Wrestling Inc), the issue of head trauma in sports is far too prevalent for WWE to leave any stone unturned.
If and when he does return, his ceiling will be drastically lowered due to a combination of injury history and WWE's moving forward with a (predominately) younger roster of fresh faces and potential future stars. The Yes Movement needs to come to terms with that. They'll always have New Orleans.
Flight, Owens, Flight?
Owens is getting his shot right now. He is one of the best-booked heels in the company and is getting over with fans organically.
My fear with Owens has always been that he is more of a short-term answer than a future star for years to come. WWE has not been shy about reminding its fanbase that Owens is a 15-year veteran who has years worth of physical, hardcore matches under his belt.
Owens will likely be in a group match due to WWE's insistence on getting everybody on the WrestleMania card in recent years, but I expect him to be featured prominently.
Owens seemed to be a dark horse for a match against Brock Lesnar, but now it seems as if Lesnar will be booked against The Wyatt Family. Owens' WrestleMania potential remains bright, especially from a wrestling standpoint, since potential matches against AJ Styles and maybe even The Undertaker could steal the show.
KO seems one WrestleMania away from at least appearing in the main event. If he stays healthy over a long period of time, he has no ceiling. But that's a big if.
Question of the Week: When it Reigns...
Due to a partisan, "bizarro" Florida crowd—and their NXT biases—many are beginning to feel that fans have begun to turn on Roman Reigns once again. Yet the next night in Miami, fans were chanting, "Roman."
Sure, Reigns will continue to encounter boos when he goes to old-school wrestling cities and will likely be in a hostile environment come WrestleMania. But that's a sign of the times.
No matter who WWE gets behind as the top guy, there will always be a loud portion of fans who resent him. It's what John Cena dealt with for much of his career. The fact that Reigns gets mixed reactions is basically a rite of passage for a top babyface.
Throughout the modern era, fans have turned on top babyfaces. Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart and even The Rock got to points in their careers where they were booed despite being good guys. Familiarity breeds contempt.
Reigns is in for a long career in WWE. If WWE sees fit to turn him heel, he'll still get a mixed reaction, except this time the hardcore fans will be cheering him. He's going to be alright.
