Louis van Gaal 'Blamed' for Ruining Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini's Euro 2016

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly "alienated" Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini, as they feel he has ruined their chances of playing at UEFA Euro 2016 in France.

The Dutch manager has been under huge pressure recently, with many rumours suggesting he is on his way out of United following their latest humbling—Saturday's home defeat to Southampton—per Stuart Mathieson in the Manchester Evening News

Van Gaal is now reportedly losing his dressing room as well, with Young "furious" that his manager has condemned him to long-term injury and Fellaini upset that he has not been allowed to go out on loan for the rest of the season, per David Anderson in the Mirror.

Per MUTV (via ESPN FC), last week Van Gaal said Young, 30, would be out for a lengthy period, as he needed surgery on a groin injury:

According to Anderson, the Englishman was "stunned" by the 64-year-old's negative pronouncements on his fitness prospects and believes that Van Gaal has ended his hopes of making Roy Hodgson's England squad for the Euros.

In similar fashion, Fellaini is said to be "annoyed" at not being allowed out on loan—Roma, Juventus and AC Milan are all reportedly interested—as he feels he needs more game time to compete for the Belgian squad, but the Red Devils will sanction only a permanent move, per Anderson.

The midfielder has appeared only sporadically this season—making eight Premier League starts, per WhoScored.com—and competition is fierce for a place at the summer tournament, with Belgium FIFA's top-ranked side in the world.

Player dissension is the last thing Van Gaal needs, but it seems that United's fans are not the only ones frustrated with the side's current predicament.

The Red Devils are in danger of missing out on UEFA Champions League football next season—they are five points back from the Premier League's top four—and Bleacher Report's Dean Jones believes the club's hierarchy should bring in Jose Mourinho to sort the situation out:

United face Championship promotion hopefuls Derby County on Friday in the fourth round of the FA Cup, a match that has taken on huge significance for Van Gaal.

While it is a match that obviously has no impact on their European aspirations, defeat to a lower-league team and elimination from the FA Cup could be the nail in the coffin for the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.
