Michael Bennett Comments on Todd Gurley, Seahawks' Loss to Rams
The Seattle Seahawks are the two-time defending NFC champions and are heading to the playoffs for the fourth straight season. However, the St. Louis Rams swept them this year, including a shocking 23-17 Week 16 victory in Seattle.
Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett wasn't impressed with the 7-8 Rams even after they defeated the Seahawks for the third time in four games, per Danny O'Neil of 710 ESPN Seattle:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It's easy to talk smack when your team is headed to the playoffs, but Bennett didn't stop there. He took a shot at Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley as well. The former Georgia Bulldogs star had 92 total yards and a score in his first career game against the Seahawks after missing the Week 1 matchup while he was recovering from a torn ACL.
Bennett wasn't impressed with the Rams' up-and-coming ball-carrier, per Greg Bishop of Sports Illustrated:
While Bennett assuredly has seen better running backs throughout his seven-year career, Gurley does have 1,108 yards and 10 touchdowns in 13 games this season, which are hardly "average" numbers. The defensive end's comments most likely stemmed from frustration after he and his teammates failed to stop the Rams offense for the second time this year.
Bennett also took issue with Rams punter Johnny Hekker, who pushed Seattle defensive end Cliff Avril to the ground during a punt. He said Hekker "squealed like a little girl" when he and Avril acted like they were going to hit the 25-year-old on a later play, per Gregg Bell of the News Tribune.
It's clear Bennett doesn't like the Rams, but his comments sounds like sour grapes after a non-playoff team swept his Seahawks.
He and Seattle are heading to the playoffs, while Gurley, Hekker and the Rams are heading into the offseason after Week 17. That should speak for itself.
