Bill Belichick Tells Reporters 'Let's End on a High Note,' Walks out of Presser
The New England Patriots lost LeGarrette Blount on Sunday to a season-ending hip injury, forcing the team to spend this week rummaging about in the free-agent bin for reinforcements.
One name that has cropped up as a possible short-term option for New England is former Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport was first to note the Patriots' interest in Jackson, who will reportedly work out with the team on Wednesday.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈

Obviously, as with all New England personnel decisions, Bill Belichick isn't into showing his cards too early, too late or ever. The Patriots head coach spoke with the media at a press conference on Wednesday morning, and he was not keen to elaborate about their ongoing running-back search.
Video of the conference's ending was tweeted by WBZ-TV's Joe Giza. When Jackson's name came up, Belichick decided it would be best for everyone if he just walked away so they could end things on a happy, non-surly note:
"You want to end on a high note?" Belichick asked.
"There's a report out there that Steven Jackson..." a reporter began.
"Let's just end on a high note," Belichick said, and then—poof—offstage he went.
Mama, there goes that man.
No matter what anyone says, Belichick is very much into comedy. It's just that he, himself, is his favorite comedian.
Dan is on Twitter. Belichick Live at the Beacon Theater is probably the most enduring standup of the early 2000s.
