Real Madrid Transfer News: Robert Lewandowski Discusses Los Blancos Rumours
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has denied his agent has been in contact with Real Madrid over a possible transfer. The Polish star also insisted he is happy in the Bundesliga.
According to German publication Sport Bild (h/t Spanish source AS) Lewandowski refuted claims his agent, Cezary Kucharski, has been talking with Los Blancos: "It's the same thing that happens every year. I don't want to speculate on the matter. There has been no contact with Real Madrid."
In a previous interview Lewandowski gave to Polish television, he confirmed how content he is at Bayern, per AS: "People talk a lot and I don't keep up to date with everything that's said. I don't know what will happen next summer. When this season is over we'll talk. Right now I'm happy in Munich."

Those words may ring hollow after Kucharski was recently photographed sitting in the VIP box at Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Writing for AS, Guillem Balague even suggested those in Lewandowski's inner circle "view enormous potential in a possible future [Gareth] Bale-Lewandowski partnership and feel the time is right for him to make the move to the Spanish capital."
But Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild (h/t ESPN FC's Stephan Uersfeld) his club isn't nervous about keeping hold of a player who is under contract until 2019.
There is an increasingly tangled web of rumours building around the idea of Lewandowski swapping top-flight football in Germany for a stint in La Liga.
Lost in all the intrigue is how landing Lewandowski would be an awesome coup for Madrid. He certainly represents a major upgrade over Frenchman Karim Benzema, a forward whose reputation is often inflated due to the quality of the players around him.
The ex-Lyon man has bagged five goals in his last two matches in all competitions, according to ESPN.com. But he's still not the consistent force Lewandowski can be.
The Pole is arguably the most dominant No. 9 in European Football. He's quick and creative, a great finisher with either foot, as well as a menace in the air.
Those skills have made Lewandowski prolific at both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern. He's scored 19 times in Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League action already this season, per WhoScored.com.
Lewandowski would fit in well as Madrid's next Galactico-style talisman up front. Despite his denials, don't expect this rumour to die. Instead, it already looks like the main transfer saga of next summer.
