The Rock Opens Up About Battling Depression on 'Oprah's Master Class'
It can be hard for someone to believe a man like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson ever suffered from depression. He's one of the greatest WWE Superstars in history and an international movie big shot.
Yet in an appearance on Oprah's Master Class, Johnson revealed there's always more than meets the eye.
"I found that with depression one of the most important things you can realize is that you're not alone. You're not the first to go through it. You're not going to be the last to go through it," Johnson said in a trailer for the show. "Oftentimes ... you feel like you're alone. You feel like it's only you, and you're in your bubble. And I wish I had someone at that time who could just pull me aside and [say], 'Hey, it's going to be OK.'"

The Fast and Furious star suffered from depression during his football career, according to Sean Ross Sapp of WrestlingInc.com.
"I said, 'I'd like to get into the business,'" Johnson said of a conversation with his father, former WWE star Rocky Johnson. "He said, 'What business?' I said, 'The wrestling business.' He said, 'You are throwing it all away. It is the worst mistake you will ever make. ... You're ruining your career.' I said, 'Maybe I'll be no good, but I feel like in my heart, I have to do this, and I either need you to train me or need you to not train me.' My dad rose to the occasion. He said, 'I'll train you,' and it wound up being one of the greatest chapters in my life."
Johnson became one of the most decorated WWE performers in history, helping define the Attitude Era alongside Stone Cold Steve Austin. He later transitioned to a full-time acting career and was the world's top-grossing actor in 2013.
The Master Class episode featuring Johnson will air at 8 p.m. ET Sunday on OWN.
