Alberto Moreno Admits 'Anger' over Being Dropped by Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool
Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno has admitted to being enraged by his lack of game time under previous manager Brendan Rodgers.
The Spaniard was overlooked for the first five matches of the new season by the Northern Irishman, with Rodgers selecting 18-year-old centre-back Joe Gomez to start in his place.
Moreno has reemerged as a key part of the Liverpool team under new manager Jurgen Klopp. But he has revealed that he was angered by Rodgers' lack of confidence in him, and the amount of minutes he was given early in 2015-16, per Andy Hunter in the Guardian:

"I was angry when I was out the team. I had this inner anger, a rage almost. I felt I was playing well, training well. He told me that I was training well but I couldn’t see why I wasn’t getting a chance at the beginning of the season."

Moreno has played the full 90 minutes in every game Klopp has taken charge of so far, apart from Wednesday's Capital One Cup victory over Bournemouth when the German fielded an experimental side.
He produced a stunning last-ditch tackle on Southampton's Sadio Mane on Sunday, proof that his pace and agility are not only attributes in his attacking play.
However, his effectiveness in the final third is one of the key qualities in the 23-year-old's skill set. His attacking intent and distribution into the penalty area makes him a menace down the left flank, per football writer Jack Lusby:
A £12 million signing from Sevilla in August of 2014, Moreno did not have the best of first seasons under Rodgers.
Rumours circulated in the summer that he may even be set for a premature departure from Anfield, an idea that was not quashed when he was sidelined early this season, per David Maddock in the Mirror.
However, he has seemingly been given a new lease of life by the arrival of Klopp and has committed his future to the club, per Hunter.
His pace and power going forward, combined with ever-improving defensive acumen, indicate he could yet become a top-quality modern full-back under the German, and potentially a huge asset for Liverpool in the years to come.
