Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Juan Cuadrado and Radamel Falcao Rumours
Chelsea and Juventus have reportedly reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Rhys Turrell of the Daily Star) the two clubs have agreed a reduced fee for the former Fiorentina man, less than the £18.3 million option inserted into the player’s current loan agreement. It’s noted the amount has been lowered to £16.1 million, considerably less than the £23.3 million Chelsea paid to land Cuadrado in January.

As we can see here, Cuadrado has proven he has what it takes to thrive in the Italian top flight, starring for La Viola previously:
At his best, as Cuadrado has shown during his loan spell with Juventus, he offers a threat on either flank, and once his legs start whirling there are few defenders capable of coping with the 27-year-old speedster.
As Bleacher Report’s Adam Digby noted here, already Cuadrado has become a key man for the Bianconeri:
The winger will feel as though he didn’t get a fair chance at Chelsea. The Italian champions haven’t had the best start to the season, but should they get Cuadrado tied down on a permanent deal, it could be the boost everyone at the club needs to begin climbing the Serie A table again.
No Truth to Radamel Falcao Exit Rumours

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed there is no truth to reports that Radamel Falcao could be set to cut short his season on loan with the Blues.
The Colombian forward failed to make the matchday squad for Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa at the weekend, and the striker is pondering whether or not to leave Stamford Bridge due to a lack of opportunities, according to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph. However, Mourinho has rubbished those claims, per Jamie Anderson of the Daily Star.
“I don’t know if it’s true because to me he says absolutely nothing in relation to that, and I speak with him every day,” said the Portuguese. “It’s strange that the press knows something I don’t know and my club doesn’t know. We don’t have any information about this.”

It’d be no surprise if Falcao was regretting his decision to move to Stamford Bridge, though. After all, he’s been unable to nail down a regular spot in the first team and seems to be adding credence to the suggestions that his disastrous year on loan at Manchester United in 2014-15 was no blip.
Bleacher Report’s Garry Hayes thinks the Blues would be better off giving a young player a chance instead of the former Atletico Madrid man:
With that in mind, it may be the best decision for all parties for Falcao to take his chances elsewhere. After suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in 2014 he’s never quite looked the same player and the only way he’s likely to rediscover the spark he had during his days at Atletico and Porto is by playing games.
There are illustrious clubs on the continent who could still offer him these kinds of assurances. At this juncture, it seems the longer he stays at Chelsea, the less chance he’ll have of rediscovering the ruthless goalscoring touch of old.
Mourinho Clears Up Andriy Yarmolenko Talk

Mourinho has dismissed rumours he was scouting Dynamo Kiev star Andriy Yarmolenko during the international break, insisting the club have enough wide players as it is.
As reported by Jamie Anderson of the Daily Star, Mourinho was spotted in Kiev during the domestic hiatus, as Ukraine hosted Spain. Naturally, rumours swirled, and it was claimed Jose was in situ to run the rule over Yarmolenko, who has been linked with the likes of Everton, Arsenal and the Blues.
But Mourinho insisted he has no need to strengthen his attacking options on the flanks, per Anderson:
"When people start some rumours they have to think a little bit before the rumour. Why? When Chelsea has Pedro, Hazard, Willian, Kenedy, Traore and Juan Cuadrado, Victor Moses.
We cannot make a collection of wingers. When people want to make rumours they have to find players in positions where we don't have so many.
"

Yarmolenko recently signed a new deal with Kiev after a summer of speculation, but as noted by Anderson, he’s still intent on a move to a more illustrious club. Here’s a look at what he could offer:
The Ukraine international is a player who seems ready to make the move to a better standard of league. He’s shown in European competitions recently for Kiev that he has the quality to influence matches at the highest level, with his trickery and thunderous left foot.
As Mourinho noted, a move to the Blues seems unlikely. Yarmolenko will surely be looking to join a team where he will play just as significant a role as he does with Dynamo.
