Real Madrid Transfer News: Cristiano Ronaldo PSG Talk Fuelled by Ramon Calderon
Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has admitted he feels as though Cristiano Ronaldo could move to Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the current season.
Ronaldo has been linked with a move to the French champions next summer, which would end seven years at the Santiago Bernabeu, per Guillem Balague of Sky Sports. As a Madridista, Calderon revealed he hopes a transfer doesn’t happen, but he is concerned that it might, per Le Parisien (h/t Mark Rodden of ESPN FC):
"I heard the rumours about a strong interest from PSG. As a former president and supporter of Real Madrid, I hope it will never happen. But as a connoisseur of the world of football, I think that a departure is possible.
For the moment, Cristiano has not spoken about it. I think he'll make his decision at the end of the season in accordance with the titles won and the feelings he has.

Ronaldo became Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer at the weekend with a goal against Levante, his 324th for the club. Talk of a possible transfer to Paris has surfaced again in the wake of that record strike, with Los Blancos set to face PSG at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
As 101 Great Goals noted here, the French media, Le Parisien in particular, are pretty hot on the prospect of the Portuguese forward potentially moving to Ligue 1:
PSG skipper Thiago Silva has also insisted Los Blancos should be concerned Ronaldo may move on. “It is normal that they are worried,” he told AS, per Rodden. “I would be too. I don't know how many years Cristiano will have at Madrid.”

Ronaldo has certainly achieved plenty during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. He has helped Los Blancos to the La Liga title, won the Champions League and also lifted the Copa del Rey. Having become the most prolific player in the club’s history, he may be wondering what else there is for him to conquer in the iconic all-white strip.
As we can see here courtesy of ESPN Stats & Info, it’s not taken the Portuguese long to achieve these feats either:
Calderon thinks that whether or not Ronaldo does go in search of a new challenge will ultimately be the player’s decision, not the club's: “A possible departure of Cristiano Ronaldo will never be down to Florentino Perez. Only the player will be able to make that decision...knowing the cold relationship between the two men, everything is possible.”

However, the Portuguese has revealed recently to Marca it is his “dream to retire at Real Madrid,” per Joe Prince-Wright of NBC Sports.
Still, if Ronaldo did have a change of heart, Los Blancos aren’t going to let one of the best players in the world walk away for nothing. PSG are one of the few teams in world football who could potentially afford the fees that’d be required to prise Ronaldo away from the Spanish capital.
There will be offers for Ronaldo to go elsewhere, that’s inevitable. The prospect of new surroundings, a new culture and a new challenge could also aid in keeping motivation high. However, it’d be a big risk on the part of Los Blancos to let go of a player who has been the best natural goalscorer of this generation and would leave the club with a massive void to fill.
