Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Anwar El Ghazi, Odsonne Edouard Rumours
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly dispatched his scouts to monitor Ajax starlet Anwar El Ghazi and Paris Saint-Germain youngster Odsonne Edouard, two potential signings with an eye on the future.
According to CalcioMercato (h/t Metro's Tom Olver), Klopp is an admirer of El Ghazi, the 20-year-old Ajax forward who has been tearing up the Eredivisie early in 2015-16, scoring eight goals in nine matches. Olver's report also states Chelsea were interested in bringing him to the Premier League during the summer.
El Ghazi made his debut for the Netherlands national team against Kazakhstan in October, assisting Newcastle United attacking midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum just 30 minutes into his first appearance for the Oranje.

The Ajax youth academy product is a bit of an enigma. Despite standing well over 6', per Transfermarkt, he's most comfortable in a wide role, where he uses his superb dribbling skills and athleticism to deadly effect.
He's not unlike Manchester United winger Memphis Depay in that he almost seems more suited for a central role given his natural scoring abilities. El Ghazi has been deployed as a traditional striker in the past, and an even better comparison might be Dynamo Kyiv's Andriy Yarmolenko, another tall, freakishly athletic winger with plenty of raw scoring ability.
Ahmed Haytham of Outside of the Boot is a big fan, although he does not believe El Ghazi will leave Ajax anytime soon:
"El Ghazi extended his contract with the Dutch side and it is now set to expire in the summer of 2019. He expressed his happiness to stay at the club by saying, 'I’m really enjoying myself at Ajax, the club has a lot of confidence in me and the crowd has been fantastic.'
It’s unlikely that he will leave the club in the near future. It’s certain that Anwar El Ghazi will be a really good winger soon, provided he keeps on developing himself in a steady fashion. The sky is the limit for this wonderkid.
"
Ajax have a wonderful reputation when it comes to developing talent, and while the likes of Ricardo Kishna have elected to leave the club in favour of a foreign adventure, most of their younger players tend to stick around for a couple of years before making their mark internationally.
Viktor Fischer is an example of a star forward who has continued his development in Amsterdam, and with the likes of Riechedly Bazoer also in the squad, the future looks incredibly bright for this young Ajax squad.
El Ghazi has every reason to stay in the Netherlands for the time being, but if he does decide to leave, Liverpool should be strong contenders for his signature. Klopp has built a career out of moulding young talents such as Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski into versatile weapons, and El Ghazi's raw pace and dribbling ability would make him a superb fit for his counter-attacking philosophy.

Meanwhile, Le Parisien's Arnaud Hermant (h/t Squawka's Jack Staplehurst) claimed Liverpool are also watching highly touted attacker Edouard while he's away on international duty with France's under-17 squad.
Edouard plays for French champions PSG, who have struggled to keep young talent at the club in the past couple of seasons. The most notable example is Kingsley Coman, who was the gem of PSG's youth setup before leaving for Juventus on a free transfer at the end of the 2013-14 season.
Les Parisiens' latest young starlet is Edouard, a powerful striker who was the top scorer at the European Under-17 Championship in May, scoring a hat-trick in the final against Germany. Currently playing in the U-17 World Cup in Chile, he got off the mark in France's first match, against New Zealand, via French Football Weekly:
Similar to El Ghazi, Edouard would represent a typical Klopp signing. The young Frenchman would be given ample time to continue developing at Anfield, but Klopp has never been afraid to give youngsters a chance to play for the senior team if they prove they're ready to contribute.
That's not the case at PSG, where Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains the automatic starter up front regardless of the situation, and that's a reason why young talent has a tendency to leave the French capital.
PSG would likely fight tooth and nail to keep hold of Edouard, but similar to the situation with Coman, the Reds have a real opportunity to steal this young starlet if they act quickly enough.
