Twitter Reacts to Jurgen Klopp's First Game as Liverpool Manager
After all the talk and hype surrounding Jurgen Klopp's appointment as Liverpool manager, the return of Premier League football finally brought the German's first game in charge.
Unsurprisingly, "Kloppmania" dominated the build-up as Liverpool travelled to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham Hostpur.
"#Kloppmania is upon us... #LFC https://t.co/9OVLdeB6BD

"I was excited for Klopp's first game. "Is it a one o'Klopp kick-off?" I asked. He said "no, 12:45." "My joke won't work for that," I sighed.

Klopp's first challenge was putting together a side wretched by injuries:

But there was no quelling the optimism of the travelling support:
"Away end: Germany flag with "Liverpool Uber Alles", "Jurgen, Wir Glauben, We Believe", Klopp's face on "We Believe" flag...
— Jack Pitt-Brooke (@JackPittBrooke) October 17, 2015"
"Germany flag with "Jurgen Meister" on, Germany flag with "Jurgen" on, "Jurgen's Reds, Scouse Nicht Englisch", another Germany flag...

The new manager's influence was immediately visible, as Liverpool pressed and harried Spurs in the style typical of Klopp's reign at Borussia Dortmund:
"I think he's told them to press #LFC
— David Easson (@DavidEasson) October 17, 2015"
"Is this actually a gegenpress-cam?
— Daniel Storey (@danielstorey85) October 17, 2015"
But BT Sport's Klopp-box was getting mixed reviews:
"Get that box off!
— Gary Neville (@GNev2) October 17, 2015"
"BT, for CHRIST sake. Get rid of Kloppvision, we are here to watch the game, not him.
— Alex Shaw (@AlexShawESPN) October 17, 2015"
"Enjoying Kloppcam.

The game itself was largely uneventful, with Liverpool coming the closest when Divock Origi's header came back off the crossbar:
"Liverpool have now hit the woodwork 97 TIMES in the past 5 seasons. That’s 21 times more than any other #BPL side. pic.twitter.com/DISTd5aIhD
— Bleacher Report UK (@br_uk) October 17, 2015"
That was the closest either side came to a goal, as Klopp's first Premier League game finished in a stalemate:

— BT Sport Football (@btsportfootball) October 17, 2015"
All in all, there were some small signs of encouragement for Liverpool fans from a squad significantly hampered by injuries.
