Klopp has yet to take charge of a Liverpool match since replacing the departed Brendan Rodgers on Merseyside. He is likely to make a number of changes to the setup at Anfield, not least introducing an adjustment in formation, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:
Klopp was renowned for his high-intensity pressing style at Dortmund, and he is sure to implement a similar ethic at Liverpool.
He will need to make his mark on the current Liverpool side he has been left by Rodgers. It will not be easy for Klopp to make such dramatic stylistic changes, and it is unsurprising that he is looking to bring in new personnel.
Klopp recently insisted he would not try to sign any Dortmund players, per German outletย Bildย (h/t Liverpool Echo's Kristian Walsh): "I have no intention whatsoever to lure Dortmundโs stars to Liverpool."
There could be few better players for Klopp to bring in than Gundoganโthe German international has played effectively under the 48-year-old previouslyโand he could make his mark on the rest of the team from the centre of the park.
New Dortmund bossย Thomas Tuchel will be loath to let him go, and he is tied to the German club until 2017 having penned a new contact in the summer.
Similarly, rumoured Liverpool forward targetย Sebastian Giovincoโof MLS' Toronto FCโis also set to be a difficult signing to complete, per talkSPORT.ย
The Italian has been linked with interest from the Reds and Tottenham Hotspur, but he insists he is happy in Canada, perย Rai Sport (h/tย talkSPORT): "I'm happy where I am. I only just changed club, so let me enjoy this adventure first."
Giovinco, 28, has been fantastic since joining Toronto from Juventus in January, scoring and creating bags of goals as both a striker and a No. 10 in MLS, per Opta:
He could, in theory, work brilliantly with Daniel Sturridge andย Philippe Coutinho in a versatile and intricate front three, but at least for now, the move does not look on the cards.
Giovinco is clearly happy where he is and there is no guarantee that his form could translate from MLS into the higher-quality Premier League.ย
