Liverpool Transfer News: Christian Benteke and Adam Lallana Futures Questioned
Liverpool duo Christian Benteke and Adam Lallana may not have a future at Anfield under new manager Jurgen Klopp, according to former Reds striker Stan Collymore.
Klopp was recently installed as Brendan Rodgers' replacement as Liverpool manager and he is expected to implement the high-intensity style that made him such a success at previous club Borussia Dortmund.
Collymore is unsure whether Benteke will survive in such a system even if he successfully reinvents himself, while he also has his doubts about Lallana, per Boylesports.com (h/t Adam Skinner in the Express):

"I honestly don’t know if [Benteke will] make it. Adam Lallana is another player who for me doesn’t fit the profile. Not because he’s not willing to work hard – he most certainly is – but he’s not the kind of attacking midfielder who will be quick enough to implement high intensity pressing into his game. He’s languid and not the quickest, and perhaps at 27 that part of his game isn’t going to come easily, so I suggest he may be someone else on the move in the next few windows.

Benteke only arrived at Anfield in the summer on a "long-term contract" from Aston Villa for £32.5 million, per BBC Sport.
His goalscoring record in the Premier League is excellent, but the Belgian's arrival on Merseyside was questioned at the time as he did not seem suited to Rodgers' style, per Sky Sports.
Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe suggested prior to Klopp's appointment that Benteke could play a similar role under the German manager as Robert Lewandowski did in his time at Dortmund:
However, Collymore is clearly doubtful as to whether the 24-year-old Benteke has the work ethic to continuously press high up the pitch, as he will be expected to under Klopp.
Meanwhile, Lallana has failed to make a telling impact at Liverpool since his arrival from Southampton in the summer of 2014.

He had a middling debut season on Merseyside and has started just twice in the 2015-16 Premier League campaign, per WhoScored.com.
The England international will undoubtedly be given his chance to prove himself under Klopp and Lallana has already expressed his excitement at working under the 48-year-old, per PA Sport (via ESPN FC).
The same goes for Benteke. Klopp has no option but to work with the resources he currently has—at least until January—and thus the current squad will be given their chance to shine.
However, should Lallana and Benteke indeed fail to work in Klopp's system, they will struggle to hold down a first-team spot, and could find themselves shipped out and replaced in future transfer windows.
