Sam Allardyce Believes Lack of PowerPoint Facilities at FA Cost Him England Job
If you're interviewing for the England job, one of the most scrutinised positions in world football, you'd better be prepared.
And while "Big Sam" Allardyce never held the position, you'd better believe he had done his homework.
Allardyce has been speaking with the Sun as part of a serialisation of his autobiography (via the Evening Standard), and insists that he had the goods for the job which eventually went to Steve McClaren in 2006.

After Sven-Goran Eriksson left the role, the then-Bolton manager Allardyce had expected the FA to seek another foreign coach, but decided to interview anyway.
And he says he was thwarted by the lack of PowerPoint facilities at the FA:
"I wanted to do a real knock-your-socks-off interview for the FA, so I put together a PowerPoint which looked at every single detail.
There was nothing missing. Nobody but nobody was going to beat it.
But then Brian Barwick, the chief executive, told me there were no PowerPoint facilities at the interview venue, so I had to print off hard copies for the panel.
So much for the progressive FA.
"
McClaren's time in charge was short lived after he failed to qualify for Euro 2008.
