Recap

Group C: Spain Qualify with Win over Luxembourg

Defending European champions Spain lost David Silva and Alvaro Morata to injury early in their clash with Luxembourg, but two goals each from Santi Cazorla and Paco Alcacer saw La Roja cruise to a 4-0 win and a ticket for Euro 2016.

As Infostrada Sports shared, the team has become a regular sight at Euro tournaments:

Cazorla underlined his fine form with two great goals, with the second standing out in particular, but Alcacer was undoubtedly the surprise of the evening. The Valencia man hasn't been at his best on the domestic front but looked excellent replacing Juventus star Morata, slotting in seamlessly into the squad.

The two scorers drew special praise from Samuel Marsden of Sport, as did Celta Vigo star Nolito:

Spain have now collected 24 out of a possible 27 points and look in excellent form heading into the upcoming Euro tournament. Behind La Roja, both Slovakia and Ukraine currently have 19 points, with one match left to be played.

Yevhen Seleznyov and Artem Kravets both scored for Ukraine, who did what was expected and beat Macedonia 2-0, but the Slovakians suffered a shocking 1-0 loss at the hands of Belarus, courtesy of a first-half goal from Stanislav Dragun.

Slovakia still lead Ukraine thanks to the head-to-head results and should comfortably beat Luxembourg on the final matchday and grab second place. Ukraine are in a strong position to qualify as the best third-placed team, but in order to do so, they'll have to get past Spain in their final match.

Group E: England Still Perfect

England's 2-0 win over Estonia wasn't pretty, but the Three Lions are still perfect after nine qualifiers, thanks to goals from Theo Walcott and Raheem Sterling. If Roy Hodgson's men beat Lithuania on Monday, they'll become just the sixth team to qualify for a European championship with a perfect record, according to Squawka Football.

The Three Lions were far from perfect on Monday, but manager Hodgson was still happy, via BBC Sport:

Walcott converted from close range near the end of the first half, with Everton's Ross Barkley providing the assist, and the latter was easily England's best player on Friday. While the 2015-16 campaign hasn't always gone according to plan for the midfielder, he flashed his considerable potential against Estonia and remains one of the team's most important players.

Sterling didn't look at all convincing but did add a goal late in the second half, which should boost his confidence moving forward. The Manchester City man tapped in from close range after great work from Jamie Vardy, whose hot Premier League form seems to have carried over into the international break.

Meanwhile, Dele Alli made his international debut, as shared by Henry Winter of the Daily Telegraph:

In Group E's other fixtures, Switzerland crushed San Marino 7-0, and thanks to Slovenia's 1-1 draw against Lithuania, La Nati have qualified for next year's Euro tournament. Slovenia have 13 points and can no longer qualify as the best third-placed team, but a single point against San Marino on the final matchday will do to qualify for the play-offs.

Group G

There were no major surprises in Group G on Friday, with leaders Austria completing a comeback against Montenegro to win 3-2. The Austrians had already qualified for Euro 2016.

Far more important is the race for second place, which will go down to the final matchday after Sweden beat Liechtenstein 2-0. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored both goals.

Meanwhile, Russia beat Moldova 2-1 to maintain their two-point gap over the Swedes heading into the final matchday. Russia will host Montenegro, who can no longer rise to third place after the loss against Austria, while Sweden take on last-placed Moldova. Both are expected to win, which would see Russia qualify for the Euros and Sweden move to the play-offs.
