David Beckham Says Manchester United Will Not Repeat Liverpool Title Failures
Former Manchester United star David Beckham is confident his old side will never repeat the struggles Liverpool have endured in recent years, which has seen them fail to win a title since 1990.
According to the Daily Mail's Mike Keegan, he said:
"I can’t see that happening to Manchester United. I never think we’ll not be in contention to win trophies. There’s too much history. Obviously, you have to stay on the ball with that but there’s too much embedded into this club to let it slip away like that."

The 40-year-old also gave his take on why the Red Devils are yet to taste success since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as manager in 2013. He added:
"When the manager leaves and [chief executive] David Gill leaves and a number of players retire like [Paul] Scholesy and [Ryan] Giggsy, no matter what club it is or how much money you have behind you there is going to be a dip.
Unfortunately, when you are Manchester United you can’t really have that.
"
United limped to seventh place in the Premier League under David Moyes following Ferguson's title-winning send-off and the Scotsman was sacked for his efforts in April when it became apparent they would not even qualify for the Champions League.

Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Louis van Gaal was brought in and guided the Red Devils to an improved fourth place last season, though they only accrued six more points than they had the previous year.
The team are currently third in the Premier League and just two points behind Manchester City, but a number of unconvincing performances, culminating in their 3-0 destruction by Arsenal on Sunday, casts serious doubt on their ability to win the title this season.
Of course, they still have a long way to go before reaching Liverpool's 25-year wait for a league title—a wait which means they have not won one in the Premier League era—and it seems inconceivable the club won't win another title at some point in the coming years.
That said, it would have seemed equally inconceivable a powerhouse club such as Liverpool, who at the time led the country with 18 top-division titles would wait so long—a wait that shows little sign of abating after the club sacked boss Brendan Rodgers on Sunday.

Though he may have left the club on a high and with a title-winning squad, Ferguson must in fact take his share of the blame for the team's struggles since his departure.
The Scot won the league with a squad containing the likes of Anderson, Nani and Tom Cleverley. While that is a testament to his managerial ability, he failed to prepare for the retirement or decline of the likes of Giggs, Scholes, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
Van Gaal still has much work to do with his new-look side to turn them into the perennial contenders they were under Ferguson, but a promising crop of younger players like Anthony Martial, Memphis Depay and Adnan Januzaj is encouraging for their chances in the future.
It is said those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it, though, so it's critical the club learn from Liverpool's struggles to ensure they don't suffer the same fate.
