Williams Unable to Shake Injury Bug
Williams suffered a concussion in Week 4, while LeSean McCoy had nagging hamstring problems that arose in the preseason and carried into the actual campaign.
Williams and McCoy are ideal complements when healthy, because “Shady” is an electrifying player in the open field who makes defenders miss with shifty moves, while the former Florida State Seminole is a bowling ball of physicality who powers his way to tough yardage.
Williams proved his worth in Week 3 with 110 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries and again in Week 9 with 110 yards on only nine carries. He figures to be a significant part of the offense moving forward when he returns, even in a split backfield.
The Bills also have veteran Boobie Dixon, who tallied a career-high 432 rushing yards in 2014, and like Williams, he is a physical force who picks up critical short yardage between the tackles.
While Buffalo has good depth in the backfield, Williams' return makes this a much more formidable offense on a team that is fighting for postseason position in the AFC.
