Mourinho was furious after the loss against the Saints during on Saturday, embarking on a seven-minute long rant in front of the cameras in which he defended his position at the club before unleashing on the officials.
He believed his team should have been given a penalty when Maarten Stekelenburg made contact with Radamel Falcao inside the box, even though replays suggested the Colombia international was already falling by the time he reached the Southampton goalkeeper.
Sky Sports Football shared the entire interview:
The Daily Mail's Ashley Clements published the entire seven-minute interview, and this comment in particular likely caught the eye of the FA:
"The result 1-1 is a huge penalty and once more we don’t get and a penalty is a crucial moment in the game with the result at 1-1, and I repeat that if FA wants to punish me they can punish me they don’t punish other managers but they punish me, it's not a problem for me.
"
The misconduct charge shouldn't come as a huge surprise, with the FA moving quickly to punish any accusations of bias or unfair officiating.
According to Paddy Power, it's but the latest in a long line of setbacks for the Blues manager:
Chelsea sit just 16th in the Premier League standings, already 10 points behind league-leaders Manchester City after just eight matches.
Mourinho's position has come under fire for the first time in his second tenure with the club, and the Blues have even resorted to openly publishing a vote of confidence, via their official website.
Mourinho has until Thursday to respond to the charge—which he's likely to accept, given the obvious nature of his comments.
