Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tyson Fury Rescheduled: New Date, Location and More
Tyson Fury's heavyweight title fight with WBA, IBF and WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko has been rescheduled for November 28 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
BBC Sport, Sky Sports and Dan Rafael of ESPN confirmed the date change in what is an exciting development for boxing fans.
Even more exciting is that it could be shown on free TV, according to Fury, per Sheldan Keay of the Manchester Evening News:
"There are two TV stations in the running and that is ITV and Sky Sports Box Office, and we haven't confirmed which station it will be broadcast live on yet.
Negotiations have been reached between the fighters and the promotions so all we are waiting on now is confirmation from the broadcaster, so whoever wants it better crack on with it.
"
The pair were supposed to meet on October 24 before the Ukrainian was forced to pull out with a calf injury.
Fury has borne disappointment in the past after two prospective fights with former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye were cancelled.
The undefeated 27-year-old said he was unsurprised when news of Klitschko's withdrawal emerged previously:
However, the Englishman is now set to get his chance at Klitschko, and he poses a significant threat to the long-term champion, per Steve Bunce in the Independent.
Klitschko has dominated the heavyweight division for almost a decade, but his numerous belts will be in real danger against Fury.
The 39-year-old is likely nearing retirement, but the clash in Dusseldorf could be one of his toughest in recent memory.
Klitschko has knocked out the likes of Alex Leapai and Kubrat Pulev in the last two years, and although he came up against a game opponent in his last bout with Bryant Jennings, he eventually triumphed by unanimous decision.
Fury undoubtedly has a huge task in attempting to wrest Klitschko's titles from him, but he has a genuine chance at glory.
