Daniel Sturridge Left out of England Squad, Danny Ings Named for October Matches
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has not been included in Roy Hodgson's England squad to face Estonia and Lithuania in the Three Lions' final two Euro 2016 qualifiers.
Sturridge netted twice against Aston Villa on Sept. 26, his first Premier League goals since March after long-term injury problems, and he looked to have played his way into consideration for international selection.
England manager Hodgson has decided against picking the 26-year-old, but Sturridge's Liverpool team-mate Danny Ings has earned his first international call-up, along with Tottenham Hotspur teenager Dele Alli.

The full squad for the two matches was provided by England's Twitter account:
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will likely be relieved at Sturridge's omission from the England squad despite having recently cleared him for international selection, per the Times' Tony Barrett:
Sturridge is only now edging back to full fitness, and his absence from the England squad will likely benefit both the national team and Liverpool in the long run.
Ings' selection comes following a summer move to Liverpool from Burnley, with the 23-year-old having netted once in four appearances in the Premier League so far this season, per WhoScored.com.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old midfielder Alli has had an impressive start to the campaign with Spurs and has clearly caught Hodgson's eye:
England have already qualified for Euro 2016 on top of Group E following a flawless campaign in which they have won all eight matches so far.
They will want to finish qualifying with a perfect record and will be aiming for victory at Wembley against Estonia on October 9, as well as away to Lithuania on October 12.
Despite this, Hodgson admitted he may experiment with a variety of new players and formations, per the Evening Standard's James Olley:
This is a luxury Hodgson can afford given England have nothing to lose in their last two qualifiers, and it should allow him to have a look at new faces in a competitive environment.
Having failed to even make it past the group stage at last summer's World Cup, Hodgson needs to get his preparations spot on in the run-up to Euro 2016 if England are to succeed.
