Donnell Comments on Recovery Timeline
Wednesday, Dec. 2
Donnell said he isn't scheduled for another MRI on his neck for "a couple of weeks," per Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.
Donnell's Size Difficult to Replace
The 6'6" tight end broke onto the scene during his third season in the league in 2014, ranking second on the team in touchdowns with six and third in receptions with 63. Like Kevin Boss, Martellus Bennett and Brandon Myers, the tight end Donnell developed into a nice target for Eli Manning.
Donnell has struggled to replicate last year's success, though he entered Week 8 with 201 yards and two touchdowns on 28 receptions. Prior to leaving against the Saints, he recorded just one reception for 22 yards.
Manning will lean on Odell Beckham Jr. heavily moving forward, but running back Shane Vereen figures to be used more in the passing attack out of the backfield as a security blanket for Manning.
