Dareus Vital to Bills Defensive Line
Dareus' stock has soared since he made his NFL debut in 2011, and the 2014 campaign represented the high point of his four-year career. Not only did he rack up 10 sacks and 35 tackles a year ago, but he also was selected as a first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press.
According to Pro Football Focus, Dareus finished the 2014 season as the NFL's fourth-ranked defensive tackle behind Aaron Donald, Gerald McCoy and Ndamukong Suh. Furthermore, Dareus clocked in with Pro Football Focus' top-ranked grade (20.7) as a run defender among all defensive tackles.
As the numbers indicate, the Bills can't afford to lose their defensive anchor. Dareus has made a living controlling the line of scrimmage with his dominant power, and his absence would open up extra rushing lanes for a defense that's been fairly stout against the run this season. Thankfully for Bills fans, he's ready to return.
