Randle Active in Week 6

Monday, Oct. 19

The Giants announced Cruz was not among their inactives ahead of tonight's NFC East showdown with the Eagles.

Latest on Randle's Practice Status Ahead of Week 6

Friday, Oct. 16

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin announced Randle will practice Friday after being a limited participant in Thursday's sessions.

This is encouraging because Coughlin announced on Monday he was "hoping" Randle would "at least be limited in practice late in the week," according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

Randle Comments on Severity of Injury

Monday, Oct. 12

"It's fine," Randle said about his hamstring, courtesy of ESPN.com's Ohm Youngmisuk. "It's not bad. Actually, I was going to come back into the game until Larry [Donnell] scored that touchdown. Just going to take a couple of days and I will be fine."

Randle Joins Growing List of Injured Giants WRs

Just when quarterback Eli Manning thought he had his wide receiving corps officially back and healthy after Randle had a quick bout with knee tendinitis during the preseason, Randle hit the shelf.

Randle was set to be the team's third receiver, playing behind Victor Cruz and Beckham, a pair that missed substantial playing time in 2014. Beckham missed the first four weeks with hamstring issues, while Cruz lost 10 games with a knee injury.

Because of their absences, he was forced to step up last season, attaining career highs in receptions (71) and yards (938). Wide receivers coach Sean Ryan spoke with ESPN.com's Dan Graziano and sees a lot of promise in Randle:

"He's got the tools to be a complete receiver," Ryan said. "For him, like most of these guys, it's consistency. ... He's an intelligent football player, he's got the size (6'4", 205 lbs), he's deceptively fast—I mean, that guy chews up ground—and he's got excellent ball skills."

Randle's injury came after the team confirmed Beckham's hamstring was nagging him as well. With Cruz also remaining out, Manning is rapidly losing his targets. The Giants dodged a bullet with both Randle and Beckham being active for tonight's divisional game.
