Lorenzo Taliaferro Injury: Updates on Ravens RB's Knee and Return
Baltimore Ravens running back Lorenzo Taliaferro suffered a medial collateral ligament injury Aug. 24. He missed the season opener against the Denver Broncos but was active for Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders.
Taliaferro was a fourth-round pick in last year's draft and fared well when his number was called upon in 2014. The Coastal Carolina product had 292 yards and four touchdowns on 68 carries as well as eight catches for 114 yards in 13 games.
The 23-year-old ball-carrier believes he'll be back on the gridiron to make an impact soon enough:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Prior to Week 16 last season, Taliaferro went on injured reserve with a foot injury in mid-December after injuring himself against the Miami Dolphins in a Week 14 matchup. The hope is he can return quickly enough to provide Baltimore with better depth at a position that features other less proven players.
Incumbent starting running back Justin Forsett had an excellent 5.4 yards per carry amid a breakout 2014 campaign. The Ravens again invested a fourth-round pick in a running back this year in USC's Javorius Allen. He is a bigger back (6'0", 220 lbs) than Forsett (5'8", 197 lbs) and logged 41 receptions in his last season with the Trojans to go with 1,489 yards rushing. Taliaferro will compete for touches with both players upon his return.
