Jake Paul Updates Rehab on Broken Jaw Injury, Boxing Future in New Pat McAfee Video
Jake Paul doesn't yet have his next fight lined up, but it sounds like he's progressing well in his recovery from a broken jaw.
During an appearance on Wednesday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Paul said he intends to continue his combat sports career and expects to be cleared to return to sparring soon.
"Definitely still fighting, we're in talks right now with multiple opponents and just figuring out when we're gonna come back. ... I'm gonna get cleared, officially, to spar in the next couple of weeks," Paul said. "So I'm gonna get back to it, keep on fighting, maybe do some MMA."

Paul hasn't fought since suffering a knockout loss against Anthony Joshua in December. In May, the 29-year-old suggested that his boxing future was in doubt because of his broken jaw. However, he said later that month that he was cleared to return to continue his fighting career and expected to resume sparring in two to three months.
Paul told McAfee that he feels his jaw will be even more durable once he's fully recovered, and he plans to be more selective when picking his next opponent, though he added a caveat.
"It heals back stronger, and I probably won't fight Olympic gold medal heavyweights anymore. That's smart, right? I learned my lesson," he said. "But, if the paycheck is big enough, I'll fight anybody."
Paul's business partner and Most Valuable Promotions co-founder, Nakisa Bidarian, previously told B/R that the youngster has "a deep desire" to try his hand at MMA in addition to continuing his boxing career. It sounds like that's still on the agenda for Paul, and he would have a slew of options in front of him for his eventual return.
Still, it's clear that Paul's recovery is ongoing, and he won't be able to set up his next fight until he knows he can train and spar safely.
