Wyndham Clark Takes Commanding Lead
1 of 3
Wyndham Clark has led at the end of every round of the 2026 U.S. Open and Saturday was no different.
After Clark held a four-shot advantage over the rest of the field once the second round was completed, he extended his lead to six shots after the third round wrapped up.
While the 32-year-old finished with four bogeys on Saturday, he also compiled several par saves and added an eagle on hole No. 16.
Clark is now one day away from capturing his second major championship and his first since the 2023 U.S. Open.
Justin Thomas, Ludvig Aberg Among Saturday's Low Scorers
2 of 3
Justin Thomas and Ludvig Åberg were both unable to build upon their strong starts to the tournament in the third round.
Thomas sat in a tie for the No. 7 position on the leaderboard at one-under at the end of the second round, but couldn't find any consistency on Saturday.
The two-time major champion shot five-over 75, as an eagle on hole No. 5 was one of few bright spots during a day in which he tallied four bogeys and one double bogey.
Åberg got off to a strong start in the first round of the tournament with a 69, but followed it up with a 72 on Friday before shooting six-over 76 on Saturday.
He finished the third round with seven bogeys.
Emiliano Grillo Produces Best Round of Chasing Pack
3 of 3
The best round of the day belonged to Emiliano Grillo, as his three-under 67 allowed him to move 40 spots up the overall leaderboard into a tie for the No. 6 position.
Grillo started the third round with five straight pars before a run in which he picked up four consecutive birdies on the front nine.
While he ran into some trouble with a bogey on hole No. 10 before another bogey on No. 17, he recorded his fifth birdie of the round on No. 16.
Even though Grillo may not be able to catch up to Clark before the tournament concludes, his performance on Saturday was impressive regardless.
