Recaps
Steven Milam's Bat Carries LSU to Second Round
LSU and Oklahoma engaged in a tight pitching duel for four innings before the Tigers finally broke through in the fifth en route to a 6-2 victory.
Steven Milam delivered the knockout blow late in the game with a two-run homer off Jackson Cleveland.
The Sooners led 2-1 after four innings before the first three LSU hitters reached base in the top of the fifth. Derek Curiel delivered the big hit with an RBI double that scored Mason Braun.
Milam followed two batters later by reaching on a fielder's choice error by Oklahoma third baseman Camden Johnson that allowed Curiel and Omar Serna Jr. to score.
LSU's bullpen had an outstanding night. Grant Fontenot was solid in his start, allowing one run on three hits over 2.1 innings.
Gavin Guidry and Deven Sheerin covered the final 6.2 innings in relief of Fontenot. They combined to allow just three hits with one unearned run and struck out 12.
The win sends LSU into the second round where it will take on No. 6 Auburn on Wednesday.
Vanderbilt's Comeback Win Has Them Moving On
The Commodores found themselves trailing 4-1 but a four-run sixth and a three-run eighth ensured they moved on to the next round, beating Kentucky 8-5.
Brodie Johnston led the way with two hits, a homer and three RBI, while Alex Kranzler came on in relief and threw 4.1 innings of one-hit, one-run ball, striking out five.
Missouri Win An Offensive Showdown
The Tigers are still alive after knocking off Ole Miss, 10-8, behind Kaden Peer's fifth-inning grand slam.
He also played some nifty defense in center field.
The Tigers finished the game with 14 hits, three dingers and seven walks, routinely keeping the basepaths occupied.
Suffice to say, it was a rough day for Ole Miss' pitching staff.
Tennessee's Offense Powers Past South Carolina
The Vols' offense wasted no time getting hot in Hoover.
Outfielder Garrett Wright went 4-for-5 at the plate with a home run and three RBI, while third baseman Henry Ford collected three hits, hitting a homer and notching two RBI.
South Carolina's offense had a commendable showing, but it was far from enough on a night in which Tennessee was firing on all cylinders.
The Vols, who won the tournament two years ago, will now face No. 7 Arkansas on Wednesday, while South Carolina will begin its offseason.
