Logan Paul's Pikachu Illustrator Sells for Trading Card Record $16.5M, WWE Star Reacts on Video

Andrew PetersFeb 16, 2026

Logan Paul parted ways with his Pikachu Illustrator card at a historic price point on Sunday.

The Pokémon card, which he purchased for a record price of $5.3 million in 2021, sold at Goldin Auction for just under $16.5 million. The sale marks a new record sale for any trading card, surpassing a 2007 Kobe Bryant card that sold for $12.93 million last year.

"Goodbye my friend," Paul wrote on social media. "What a privilege it's been to be the owner of the greatest collectible in the world," wrote Paul. "From Guinness World Records to WWE debuts, Netflix to National News, this card and I have been on a generational run. Tomorrow night she finds a new home on Goldin Auctions as we live stream the entire sale on my YT channel."

The card sold on Sunday was made in the late 1990s, and there are estimated to be only 40 in existence. The card is also a PSA Grade 10.

Goldin paid Paul a $2.5 million advance for putting his card up for auction.

When Paul revealed in December that he was planning to sell the card, he said he spent his "entire net worth" on it when he originally purchased it. He also expressed his confidence in card investing.

"Pokemon as an asset class has outperformed the stock market by upwards of 3,000 percent in the last 20 years," he said. "It is a generational game and franchise that is the No. 1 highest-grossing and most popular franchise in the world. This card is the best out of all of them."

Paul managed to turn a large profit on the Pikachu card, but the WWE star will almost certainly be looking to make another Pokémon card investment soon.
