Monday, Nov. 2
Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters Marshall is dealing with a "sore big toe" and a sore ankle, adding "it's too early to tell" if the wideout will be able to play against the Jaguars.
Jets' Offense Bitten By Injury Bug
Marshall was just one of numerous injuries the Jets suffered on offense in Week 8, as quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick injured his thumb and his backup Geno Smith later hurt his shoulder in the same contest.
In his first season with the Jets, Marshall has become a reliable target for Fitzpatrick, recording five games of 100 or more receiving yards.
The 10th-year veteran has provided a significant boost to the Jets offense, which ranked last in the NFL with an average of 184.1 passing yards per game in 2014. This year, the Jets are averaging 249.1 passing yards per game after Week 8.
Before a shortened nightmare season with the Bears in 2014 in which he played just 13 games and recorded 721 yards, Marshall had recorded over 1,200 yards in three straight seasons.
He has shown throughout his career that he is capable of working with quarterbacks who aren't elite. Before working with Jay Cutler in Chicago, Marshall was catching passes from the likes of Chad Henne, Matt Moore and Kyle Orton during his tenures with the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos.
Marshall is a top receiver for the Jets, along with Eric Decker, who may see more targets if Marshall is limited at all.
After a slow start to his career in New York last season, Decker finished the season strong, recording 85 yards or more in three of his final four games, including a 221-yard effort in Week 17 against the Dolphins. So far in 2015, he has 30 receptions for 393 yards and five touchdowns.
