Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo joined the long list of pro athletes who crossed over into the world of WWE when he got physical with members of The Judgment Day from his ringside seat.
According to Fightful Select (via H Jenkins of Ringside News), WWE sketched out Skattebo's role on the day of Raw. The creative team made sure the rookie ball-carrier wouldn't do anything to jeopardize his ongoing injury recovery, either.
Skattebo received some criticism since the moment came less than a month after he dislocated his ankle, which sidelines him for the remainder of the season. He defended his appearance and said it was a helpful diversion during a long, difficult rehab process:
Beyond that, interim head coach Mike Kafka said the organization was made aware ahead of time, so the Giants knew generally what to expect.
Internal Momentum Building for Jacob Fatu
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer (via Cageside Seats' Randall Ortman) reported some within WWE are "very strongly" advocating for Jacob Fatu to receive a big push.
Fatu hasn't wrestled a televised match since August at SummerSlam, when he lost to Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage match for the United States title.
He was scheduled to battle Drew McIntyre on the Oct. 17 edition of SmackDown, only to suffer an attack backstage.
That may have been a way to write Fatu off WWE television temporarily as he's dealing with an injury that could sideline him into 2026.
Meltzer's report is hardly surprising because The Samoan Werewolf has been presented as a credible threat from the moment he debuted with WWE in June 2024.
One silver lining to Fatu's injury is that he'll have even more distance from any lasting remnants of his feud with Sikoa and The Bloodline once he's back in the ring. He can start fresh, and his absence is unlikely to knock him down a peg in the eyes of the WWE Universe.
Nick Hogan Not on WWE Radar
Nick Hogan, son of late WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, recently left the door open in an interview with TMZ Sports about making a pivot to pro wrestling. That came after he shared photos from a workout with NWA world television champion Bryan Idol.
Sapp (via Ortman) reported WWE isn't rolling out the red carpet for the 35-year-old. The company hasn't given any consideration to signing him since the 2010s, and that was more of a thought exercise than anything else.
WWE brought Nick onto the stage for its 10-bell salute to Hulk Hogan on Raw following the legend's death in July. He was also shown at ringside during SummerSlam.
The window for Nick to actually wrestle in WWE has all but likely closed, though.
