Will Lane Kiffin Go to LSU? Latest Rumors on Massive Contract Offer amid Ole Miss Buzz
LSU is reportedly organizing a serious contract offer for Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.
According to Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger, LSU executives and administrators have discussed offering Kiffin a "seven-year, incentive-laden deal worth at least $90 million" that would make him tied for the highest-paid coach in the country.
The Tigers are also including "significant NIL-related roster investments exceeding $25 million" as part of the offer, per Dellenger.

On3's Chris Low, Brett McMurphy and Pete Nakos also reported that Florida and Ole Miss are expected to offer contracts of "at least" $13 million per year, and nearing the $14 million mark annually.
According to Low, McMurphy and Nakos, all three schools are "prepared to offer at least $25 million in NIL roster investment" as part of the contract proposals.
CBS Sports' Brandon Marcello added that LSU's offer, which has not yet been made, is believed to be worth up to $98 million over seven years.
LSU is searching for a new full-time head coach after firing Brian Kelly on Oct. 26.
The Tigers owned a 5-3 record at the time of Kelly's dismissal, but were in the midst of a two-game losing streak and posted a 2-3 mark against SEC foes. LSU now sits at 6-4 on the season.
Dellenger noted that Kiffin currently makes $9 million a year, but Ole Miss officials have outlined a plan that features a salary increase for him as well as "guarantees in NIL compensation for the roster."
Meanwhile, Kiffin declined to directly address questions about whether he spoke with Louisiana governor Jeff Landry regarding the LSU vacancy on Wednesday.
Kiffin is in the midst of his sixth season at Ole Miss, owning a 54-19 record with the school. The Rebels have amassed at least 10 wins in four of his years leading the program, including a 10-1 record during their 2025 campaign.
Ole Miss sits at No. 6 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.
The Rebels won't have to wait long to find out if Kiffin will accept LSU's offer, as athletic director Keith Carter confirmed that the coach is set to make an announcement regarding his future following the team's matchup with Mississippi State on Nov. 28.
