Every Major WWE Storyline Right Now Ranked from Hottest to Coldest

Erik BeastonNov 3, 2025

WWE Creative has been much-maligned in 2025. It has been disjointed and inconsistent in some cases, lackadaisical and uninspired in others.

The wave of momentum the company rode through 2024 and into the new year has dissipated, leaving the company to try to find rejuvenated excitement in its top stories.

With only two months left in the year, these are the major ongoing storylines in WWE right now, ranked from hottest to coldest.

5. Top Raw Babyfaces vs. The Vision

Monday Night RAW

The rivalry between top Raw babyfaces CM Punk, The Usos, and LA Knight and The Vision has dimmed significantly with the injury suffered by Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel and the subsequent decision not to run with Bron Breakker as the lead heel on Raw in his absence.

Breakker and Bronson Reed, fresh off their betrayal of Rollins, have been creatively neutered of late, beginning with the decision to remove them from the No. 1 Contender's Battle Royal. The lack of follow-through from there has only hurt their momentum, even if all signs still point to them rising to prominence on Monday nights.

Add to that the developing tension between the babyfaces and how their mounting dislike for each other has led to the return of The Bloodline saga, and you have a story that has stalled.

That it was hardly the hottest in the industry even before Rollins' injury only further hammers home how cold the Vision storyline has become, despite the presence of two main event bad guys and the always great Paul Heyman.

4. Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre's Championship Feud

The only thing keeping the uninspired rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre from the bottom spot in this countdown is the presence of the most beloved star in WWE and the company's QB1.

That is no criticism of McIntyre, who is still one of the most engaging performers in WWE, but rather an indictment on a creative team that has somehow run out of interesting things for either competitor to do.

Like a proper heel, the Scot continues to complain about being screwed out of the Undisputed WWE Championship and having just cause for his words. Rhodes has managed to escape their battles with some questionable actions.

Still, any program that is bogged down in special match stipulations not only is reflective of a story that is not strong enough to maintain interest, but it also inevitably leads to overbooked matches and diminishing quality.

There is a great contest between Rhodes and McIntyre to be had but within the context of this story, it may be too little, too late.

3. Kabuki Warriors' Takeover of Women's Division

Monday Night RAW

What started as a rivalry with Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky has evolved into Asuka and Kairi Sane's determination to take over the women's roster in WWE.

We saw as much on last Monday's Raw, when they attacked women's tag team champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, as well as Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.

The duo stood tall to close out the show and expand their influence on the division.

It is highly unlikely Ripley and Sky are finished with The Empress of Tomorrow and The Pirate Princess, especially after the beatdown they caught just 48 hours after Crown Jewel in Australia.

Take them, factor in the other two teams, and you have a heel tandem capable of being the centerpiece of the tag team roster and the women's division as a whole.

Having them as foils for immensely popular stars such as Ripley, Sky, and Bliss does not hurt the overall popularity of the story and the effectiveness of The Kabuki Warriors as central heels.

2. John Cena's Retirement Tour

WWE Crown Jewel

Inconsistent booking has been a theme across WWE programming in 2025, and John Cena's much anticipated retirement tour has been no different.

From a forced heel turn that never took hold as well as some had hoped to a perceived lack of forethought in the feuds and matches that would define it, WWE has failed Cena at points.

At the same time, the fans' love of The Unseen 17 has helped to enhance what the company has produced, including several final-ever showdowns between Cena and his greatest rivals including Randy Orton, CM Punk, and AJ Styles.

The upcoming tournament to decide his final opponent will go a long way in determining how well the entire thing wraps up.

However, there is no denying Cena is still a top draw, someone fans genuinely care about and want to see go out on a high note, and that has fueled his last run to the success it has achieved despite some questionable decisions that bogged it down in the first half of the year.

1. Jey Uso's Downward Spiral and Return of the Bloodline Saga

5 of 5
Monday Night RAW

With the Bloodline saga, WWE, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman crafted an overarching storyline that created complex characters, new stars and drove business to some of the greatest heights the company had seen.

Since Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, the story has taken a backseat to The Tribal Chief's rise in popularity as a babyface, with the rare exception being Jey Uso's run to the World Heavyweight Championship.

Since losing the gold, Uso has allowed Reigns back into his ear, letting The OTC tell him who he should acquaint with, how to act and what steps to take to get back to the world title.

All while Jey's brother, Jimmy Uso, has warned him about reverting back to the control of The Tribal Chief. It was, after all, when Jey broke away from Reigns that he became his own man and enjoyed his greatest success as a singles competitor.

Uso's spiral into desperation as he attempts to win back the top prize on Raw is the most interesting story WWE has going right now and, given his popularity, the hottest the company is currently producing.
