WWE's Seth Rollins Says He's Out 6 Months After Surgery on Shoulder Injury

WWE Superstar Seth Rollins said Friday that he is slated to miss six months of action due to a shoulder injury.

Rollins delivered the news during an appearance on NFL Network's Good Morning Football. With his arm in a sling, Rollins continued by saying, "My world championship's gonna be worn by some schmuck, either Jey Uso or CM Punk. It's awful."

Two weeks ago on Raw, Rollins was shockingly attacked by his stablemates in The Vision, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. On the following week's episode of Raw, general manager Adam Pearce announced that Rollins would have to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship due to not being medically cleared to compete.

It was later reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer (h/t WrestleTalk) that the injury angle was done due to a legitimate injury suffered by Rollins during his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. Rollins reportedly required surgery that would keep him out for "several months."

While Rollins was originally slated to defend the world heavyweight title against CM Punk at Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend, plans had to be altered due to the injury.

To determine Rollins' replacement, a battle royal was held on Raw, and Jey was victorious. That means Punk and Jey will clash with the vacant World Heavyweight Championship on the line on Saturday.

Both Punk and Uso were recent holders of the world title. In fact, Punk was the last champion before Rollins, but he lost it at SummerSlam when Rollins successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.

Before the cash-in, it was thought that Rollins had suffered a legitimate knee injury, but it was all a ruse meant to make The Visionary's cash-in an even bigger surprise.

All signs point toward Rollins' current injury being a real one, though, which is unfortunate since it means WWE will be without one of its top stars for the foreseeable future.

If Rollins' six-month timeline is accurate, it means he will definitely miss two of WWE's biggest events in Survivor Series on Nov. 29 and the Royal Rumble on Jan. 31.

However, there may be at least some hope for him to get back for WrestleMania 42, which will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026.
