Buy or Sell Triple H's Reaction to WWE Critics, Liv Morgan Injury Update, More Rumors
While its primary stomping grounds might have colder temperatures as of late, WWE is staying super hot as winter approaches.
WWE alone is propping up the pro wrestling rumor mill to a wild degree right now. There are more PLEs than ever on the schedule, for one, never mind the usual buzz and speculation that makes the rounds.
But there's also straight-up major question marks keeping WWE a hot topic after a real injury to Seth Rollins forced him to vacate a world title. The fallout from that sending ripple effects across the main event and roster is hard to exaggerate. There are also rumblings of a major Superstar on the way back from injury, too.
To help fans keep up with the mill, here are the most notable rumblings making the rounds right now and whether they're worth a buy or sell as legit.
Triple H's weird stance
1 of 5
The Rumor
The honeymoon phase with Triple H as head of creative is over and he's been under fire. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats), he dropped a "We work them (the fans). They don't work us," zinger after negative reviews to Wrestlepalooza.
Reaction
Talk about a funny visual. This rumor almost makes it sound like Triple H dropped a motivational speech in the creative room while maintaining that the company couldn't or wouldn't change plans due to fan reactions.
Buy or Sell?
Sell. It feels almost too good to be true and almost reads like an in-ring promo. And besides, WWE has shown a willingness to flex plans in response to fan reactions, even lately. Remember R-Truth? (No really, what happened to that, though?)
Austin Theory plans?
2 of 5
The Rumor
According to WrestleVotes (h/t Ortman), some in WWE still want to push Austin Theory, even though alleged internal plans that had him joining The Vision have been dashed.
Reaction
It's a shame fans didn't get to see Theory link up with Paul Heyman and Co. before the Rollins injury, if the rumor is true. But it's easy to see why WWE would still have a major interest in pushing a younger (28) Superstar with a massive ceiling.
Buy or Sell?
Buy. Maybe there's something here by letting Theory get some run with Heyman for the time being. Either way, despite the stacked WWE roster, he remains a guy with big upside worth an investment.
WWE ticket problems?
3 of 5
The Rumor
Ticket prices remain a hot topic. According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, WWE ticket prices have roughly doubled since September 2023, around the time of the TKO merger. That, despite other entertainment ticket prices apparently not rising nearly as much.
Reaction
WWE bumping prices isn't exactly a surprise. Disappointing, sure. But a surprise, no. The company has more premium events each year now, but also seems to run fewer house shows. WWE seems to be going overseas more too, as it pushes to become more premium overall.
Buy or Sell?
An unfortunate buy. Going the way of the Super Bowl and cutting out the normal fans, especially during volatile economic times for many, downright stinks. But it aligns with the obvious WWE push to be more, well, premium, and like other top sports.
Liv Morgan return speculation
4 of 5
The Rumor
Is a Liv Morgan return happening soon? According to PW Insider (h/t Ortman),Morgan is on track to be back in early 2026.
Reaction
Fans haven't seen Morgan in a ring since June and the women's division misses her, so early 2026 rumblings should excite fans. Of note, the rumor says WWE might not even wait until next year's Royal Rumble to get her back in the mix.
Buy or Sell?
Easy buy, or as much as one can buy on injury return timeline speculation. But WWE loves to roll out big returns and surprises during the run-up to and during the Royal Rumble itself. It doesn't get much bigger than Morgan returning to go after titles again.
Chris Jericho latest
5 of 5
The Rumor
Speculation on a Chris Jericho WWE return continues. This time, Fightful Select (h/t Tom Araya of Rajah) reported that Jericho doesn't seem to be on the way to a creative role within AEW, if and when his contract expires going into 2026.
Reaction
All roads have always seemingly led to Jericho returning to WWE at some point for his big goodbye. The endless speculation that he's running up to the end of his AEW contract only intensifies the topic.
Buy or Sell?
Buy. Jericho can and should end his in-ring career in WWE. There's little doubt he's a Hall of Famer and seeing a last dream match or two on a mini retirement tour would be fun. And even despite all that, there's nothing to say he can't go and work creative in AEW after the fact, should want it.
