WWE Rumors on Bron Breakker, CM Punk, Reigns, Survivor Series WarGames and Liv Morgan
Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
WWE Reportedly Planning Breakker Main Event Push
WWE reportedly has a long-term plan for Bron Breakker to become world heavyweight champion despite him not being part of the match for the vacant title at Saturday Night's Main Event on Nov. 1.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlePurists), WWE is carefully picking its spots with how it intends to push Breakker to the top of the card.
Meltzer noted that since the Nov. 1 SNME will be exclusive to Peacock and may not have significant viewership, WWE didn't want to have Breakker win the title on that show.
On the Raw after Crown Jewel, Breakker shockingly turned on Seth Rollins by hitting him with a spear, and Bronson Reed joined him by hitting a Tsunami on Rollins as well.
Breakker took the World Heavyweight Championship belt with him, and after it was announced that Rollins would have to vacate the title due to injury, Bron eventually handed it over to Raw general manager Adam Pearce on this week's episode of Raw after initially resisting.
Due to Breakker being difficult, Pearce removed Breakker and Reed from the battle royal to determine CM Punk's opponent for the vacant world title. Jey Uso went on to win the battle royal.
Per Meltzer, WWE felt it unnecessary to put Breakker in the battle royal and have him lose since he wasn't intended to be in the world title match at SNME, which is why the angle was run to remove him from the field.
If the goal is to put Breakker over in a significant way with a high-profile match and feud, perhaps having him win the Royal Rumble and then the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42 would be the best course of action.
WWE's Reported Survivor Series Card Plans
Despite Rollins being out of action due to injury, WWE is reportedly still planning a WarGames match heavily focused on The Vision for Survivor Series next month.
According to Meltzer (h/t WrestleTalk), WWE is still working toward a WarGames match that will pit The Vision and others against a team led by Roman Reigns and CM Punk.
Earlier this month, Meltzer (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News) reported that WWE was building to a WarGames match of Reigns, Punk, Jacob Fatu, LA Knight and either Jey or Jimmy Uso against Rollins, Breakker, Reed, Brock Lesnar and Austin Theory.
Reigns, Punk, Knight and The Usos have all had issues with The Vision in recent weeks and months, making them a logical team to oppose the group.
Rollins, Breakker and Reed made sense for the heel team, as did Lesnar since he has been friendly with Paul Heyman since returning to WWE at SummerSlam.
Theory's inclusion in the report raised some eyebrows since he has been off TV for months due to injury, but perhaps there were plans to add him to The Vision.
Now that Rollins is out and The Vision is down to just Breakker and Reed, WWE will either have to add new members or have The Vision align with different Superstars in order to complete the WarGames field.
Meltzer (h/t WrestlePurists) also reported that Cody Rhodes was originally supposed to defend the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series, but the match got moved up to Saturday Night's Main Event on Nov. 1.
Per Meltzer, McIntyre was scheduled to face Fatu at SNME, however, plans had to be changed since Fatu is out with an injury.
PWInsider Elite's Mike Johnson (h/t WrestlePurists) reported that Fatu is recovering from a dental procedure and the hope is that he will be back "very soon."
If Fatu is back in time for Survivor Series, perhaps a Triple Threat for the WWE title between Fatu, McIntyre and Rhodes could be in the cards given that Fatu made his desire to win the WWE Championship known to Rhodes on SmackDown a couple of weeks ago.
Reported Timeline for Morgan's Injury Return
Liv Morgan has been out of action since June due to a shoulder injury, but her return reportedly may not be too far off.
According to PWInsider.com (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), WWE believes Morgan will be cleared by early 2026, although it could be even sooner if she remains ahead of schedule.
Morgan suffered a shoulder injury during a match against Kairi Sane on the June 16 episode of Raw, which seemingly forced several creative plans to get changed.
At the time, Liv was one half of the WWE women's tag team champions, plus she was embroiled in a rivalry with Nikki Bella, which may have been leading to a match at Evolution.
With Morgan out, Roxanne Perez stepped up by becoming Raquel's new tag team partner, as well as a full-fledged member of The Judgment Day.
Perez also began flirting with Liv's on-screen boyfriend, Dominik Mysterio, which suggested WWE may have been laying the groundwork for Morgan vs. Perez upon Liv's return.
If the timeline provided by PWInsider is accurate, it suggests there is a chance Morgan could return in time for the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia on Jan. 31, 2026.
Given Liv's popularity, she would be a prime candidate to win the women's Royal Rumble match in that scenario, setting her up for a potential women's title match at WrestleMania 42.
