Buy or Sell The Vision's Shifting Plans, Latest on WWE Women's Legends, More Rumors

Chris RolingOct 18, 2025

The pro wrestling rumor mill simply isn't permitted to simmer down, especially with WWE just firing on all cylinders.

It's not just WWE throwing out more PLEs than usual with the odd, seemingly endless slate of Saturday Night's Main Event specials. That tends to accelerate the pace of booking the buzz on the rumor mill, though.

But now, there's also rumblings around Superstars changing promotions and the headline act that is Seth Rollins' injury and the major booking fallout around it that could extend through next year's WrestleMania.

Those are just a few examples, too. Here's a look at the must-know rumors and whether fans should buy or sell on each as legit.

Seth Rollins injury fallout

WWE Crown Jewel

The Rumor

The Seth Rollins injury forced WWE to have Bron Breakker betray him earlier than WWE wanted, with the plan to initially have that happen well into 2026, according to Fightful Select (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats). Also, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ortman), WWE had plans for Rollins vs. CM Punk at SNME this year, plus Rollins vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania next year.

Reaction

Some of these booking revelations are not shocking in the slightest. Breakker spearing Rollins and setting up that story felt a little rushed, albeit in a good way. And Rollins-Punk continues to blaze in the background of pretty much all of the storylines. Rollins getting in the ring with Roman is, frankly, inevitable, too.

Buy or Sell?

Easiest buy of the week across the board. Perhaps what's more interesting now is what WWE pivots to if Rollins can't make 'Mania next year. Breakker could get a rocketship strapped to his back as a main-eventer, while Rollins vs. Punk and Rollins vs. Roman can happen at pretty much any point.

AJ Styles retirement buzz

The Rumor

It's no secret AJ Styles will retire from pro wrestling in 2026. The how remains a question, though. According to Fightful Select (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), Styles is "content" in WWE and there are no plans to do something such as go over to AEW.

Reaction

It was, at least a little, worth wondering if Styles might take his retirement tour to other promotions eventually, just to get some of those dream matches in before he leaves the boots in the ring. But at the same time, he's been with WWE longer than anyone would likely guess and there are certainly plenty of dream matches to tick off there over the next year, too.

Buy or Sell?

Buy. The Phenomenal One is 48 years old and has a set retirement date in mind. Odds are he'll put on some classics on his way out the door and call it a career, especially while being so near and dear to John Cena's retirement tour and some of the pitfalls it has showcased.

Andrade drama

SmackDown

The Rumor

Another week, more Andrade. Technically back with AEW after his WWE departure, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reported that a standoff with WWE over a non-compete clause in his contract could stretch into the two-month range.

Reaction

Cue plenty of endless reports and speculation about WWE's non-compete clauses and whether TKO will start enforcing them more strictly from here on out. Andrade's consistent company-hopping in recent years, naturally, brings this conversation to the forefront and unironically makes for some compelling headlines.

Buy or Sell?

Buy. Andrade seemed to part with WWE on bad terms this time out, at least from an outsider's perspective. And from a sheer business perspective, WWE probably didn't love just how quickly he popped up with its biggest direct competition, providing a boost. Expect this to remain in the news for a long time and have an overall industry impact.

Rollins' WrestleMania fate?

4 of 5
Monday Night RAW

The Rumor

Going off the buzz so far, it sure seems like Rollins will miss WrestleMania next year. According to Meltzer (h/t Ortman), shoulder surgery would "probably" cause Rollins to indeed miss that show.

Reaction

It's almost unfathomable to think Rollins could miss a 'Mania. That means WWE booking will need to move on without him for the time being, hence splitting up his stable by having Bron Breakker attack him. One has to imagine Breakker will use this to jump to much bigger things while Paul Heyman acts as the driving voice.

Buy or Sell?

Sell. This feels like one of those injury notes WWE leaks to subvert expectations and keep a surprise hidden for as long as possible. In fact, we just did this with a Rollins injury fakeout. Even if he's not strictly competing at WrestleMania, it's safe to think Rollins will be there to build a feud with Breakker, or even Roman Reigns, or get involved with CM Punk.

Nikki Bella status update

Monday Night RAW

The Rumor

Nikki Bella hasn't been seen at some major events as of late, but according to Fightful Select (h/t Rajah.com's Tom Araya), WWE expects her around for the long haul, and her absence is simply due to a lack of creative plans.

Reaction

It wasn't unreasonable to think Bella would have a role at Crown Jewel recently. Otherwise, fans haven't seen her since Clash in Paris back in August when she challenged Becky Lynch.

Buy or Sell?

Buy. Bella feels like a part-timer who will only get usage at those major events. But missing Crown Jewel when there are a sea of PLEs all the time now, spearheaded by those SNMEs, means not everyone gets on every single show. She'll be back and in a big program soon enough.
