Seth Rollins Reportedly to Undergo Surgery on Shoulder Injury 'ASAP,' Out Indefinitely

After the shocking implosion of The Vision to close Monday night's episode of WWE Raw, world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins reportedly will need surgery.

According to Wrestling Observer (h/t WrestleTalk), Rollins is expected to undergo shoulder surgery "as soon as possible" and will be out at least "several months."

During Rollins' Crown Jewel Championship match against WWE champion Cody Rhodes at the Crown Jewel premium live event on Saturday, there was a moment when Rollins looked like he may have suffered a legitimate injury.

Rollins attempted a coast-to-coast move from one corner to another, and although he was able to hit Rhodes with a flying headbutt, he landed awkwardly on his arm.

For the remainder of the match, Rollins looked to be favoring his arm, and even though he was victorious, he didn't raise the arm afterward.

A photo that surfaced on social media after Crown Jewel showed Rollins with his arm in a sling, which led to rumors and speculation about his status.

It was later reported by Fightful Select (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News) that Rollins was preparing to undergo medical testing to determine the severity of his injury.

On Raw, CM Punk won a Triple Threat match against LA Knight and Jey Uso in the main event to earn a world title opportunity against Rollins.

That prompted The Vision to make their way to the ring, and Punk was on the receiving end of a beatdown at the hands of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

Rollins seemed thrilled with their handiwork, only for Breakker to spear Rollins out of nowhere, much to the shock of the WWE Universe. Breakker then gave Reed the choice of who he wanted to align with, and he chose Breakker by virtue of hitting Rollins with a Tsunami.

To tie it all together, Paul Heyman raised the arms of Breakker and Reed, while Breakker held Rollins' World Heavyweight Championship belt in the air.

Nobody expected Breakker and Reed to turn on Rollins so soon, but the fact that it happened led to plenty of speculation as to why.

While Rollins being legitimately injured was one school of thought, there was also plenty of consideration given to the idea that it could be an injury ruse given that Rollins previously faked a knee injury over the summer and parlayed it into a successful Money in the Bank cash-in on Punk at SummerSlam.

However, this time around, a real injury always felt like the most logical explanation, and it looks like Rollins will be on the shelf indefinitely.
