Deion Sanders Returns to Colorado Practice in Video 1 Day After Having 16th Surgery
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders didn't miss much time after undergoing surgery on Tuesday.
In a video posted by Deion Sanders Jr. on his Well Off Media YouTube channel, the elder Sanders returned to the Buffaloes' practice facilities on Wednesday following the procedure.
Deion initially underwent surgery to address blood clotting in his left leg, marking his 16th medical procedure in recent years.
He revealed that he was dealing with pain during Colorado's 35-21 loss to TCU on Saturday, alternating between sitting and standing on the sideline throughout the game. Sanders also didn't wear a shoe on his left foot in the second half of the contest.
Still, he wasn't anticipating missing any practice prior to the surgery.
"I'm going to be all right," Sanders said Tuesday, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN). "Prayerfully, I'll be right back tomorrow because I don't miss practice. I don't plan on doing such."
The Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback has been hampered by blood clot issues in the past, undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot in his right leg in 2023.
Sanders also missed three games during his time as Jackson State's head coach in 2021 due to issues with blood circulation in his lower body, leading to two of his toes getting amputated.
With the 58-year-old's latest surgery in the rearview mirror, he doesn't appear to be in any danger of missing Colorado's upcoming matchup with No. 11 Iowa State.
The Buffaloes own a 2-4 record to open their 2025 campaign.
