Anthony Joshua Calls out Tyson Fury in IG Post, Says He's Not 'Game to Fight Whoever'
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua reassured his fans he'll "be back to lace up my boots and put on my gloves sooner than later," and he took a shot at Tyson Fury in the process.
In an Instagram story, Joshua praised Joseph Parker and turned it into a criticism of Fury.
"He's in the game to fight whoever, whenever and that's the DNA of a real general. Unlike his dippy mate @tysonfury," Joshua said.
The 35-year-old closed by saying he's "hopefully punching fury's head in and dancing around his flicker jab with ease" in his next fight.
The war of words between Joshua and Fury has dragged on for years, yet an actual fight is no closer to becoming a reality.
Fury announced another retirement from boxing this past January after a second successive loss to Oleksandr Usyk. He followed up in July to hype up a third meeting with Usyk, which is supposedly scheduled for April 2026. It doesn't appear that is finalized, though.
Joshua's short-term future is equally murky. He underwent elbow surgery earlier this year, and Sky Sports' John Dennen reported in August he's likely to return in 2026.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, told BBC Sport a matchup with Jake Paul is a serious possibility.
