WWE Unreal Trailer, Netflix Release Date Revealed for Show on HHH's Backstage Creative
Netflix released an official trailer Thursday for the upcoming docuseries entitled WWE: Unreal.
Several of WWE's biggest stars were featured in the trailer, including Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, CM Punk, John Cena and WWE head of creative Triple H:
The series, which provides a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into the planning and production of WWE events, is set to debut on Netflix on July 29.
Several huge moments are addressed in the trailer, including Cena's shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber, Jey Uso winning the men's Royal Rumble match and Seth Rollins aligning with Paul Heyman at WrestleMania 41.
Per Netflix's official website, the first season of WWE: Unreal will feature five episodes on varying topics.
John Powell of SlamWrestling.net reported that Raw's debut on Netflix, the 2025 Royal Rumble, women's wrestling, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 41 will be the tent-pole topics the five episodes hone in on.
Pro wrestling has long been a secretive business built on the philosophy of presenting a realistic product and not revealing what happened behind the scenes to make them a reality.
However, the art of "kayfabe" has gone by the wayside over the years due largely to the internet and the prevalence of wrestling reporters and insiders who share backstage news.
Rather than fighting against the inevitable, WWE is seemingly embracing the idea that wrestling fans are more informed and tuned in than ever before.
With WWE: Unreal, the company is cutting out the middle man, peeling back the curtain and providing a more in-depth look at the inner workings of WWE than ever before.
It isn't a completely foreign concept for WWE since several documentaries have been produced over the years showing what goes on backstage, but all signs point toward WWE: Unreal taking things to the next level.
When it comes to WWE or any wrestling company, it is highly uncommon to show creative discussions, how decisions are made and explanations for why they are made.
Hard Knocks has been a hugely successful docuseries for HBO and the NFL for over two decades due to the unprecedented access it provides football fans with, and it feels like WWE: Unreal could become wrestling's version of that.
