WWE NXT Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights From June 24

Chris MuellerJun 24, 2025

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of WWE NXT on June 24.

This week's show featured two title bouts and a No. 1 Contender's match to determine the next challenger for Jacy Jayne's women's title.

Here's a look at what WWE advertised for Tuesday's show:

—Trick Williams vs. Josh Briggs (TNA Championship)
—Tony D'Angelo vs. Stacks (NXT Heritage Cup)
—Jaida Parker vs. Lash Legend vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Izzi Dame

Let's take a look at everything that happened on this week's NXT.

Trick Williams vs. Josh Briggs (TNA Championship)

1 of 6
NXT

After some quick promos from the women competing in the Fatal 4-Way later in the show, Williams made his way to the ring for his TNA title match against Briggs.

Williams rarely finds himself as the smaller competitor in the ring, but he was giving up some size to Briggs, so he ended up being overpowered on more than one occasion. It forced him to take a different approach.

Yoshiki Inamura tried to provide Briggs with support from ringside and distracted Williams long enough at one point for Briggs to recover at ringside.

This was a hard-fought match with some big spots, but it was another example of a title bout with an outcome that was a little too predictable. Williams retained the TNA title over a guy who has really come into his own in 2025. This won't be the last time we see Briggs fighting for gold.

Joe Hendry attacked Williams at the end of the match, indicating he will likely be the next challenger for the belt.

Result: Williams defeated Briggs

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

—The video packages with the four women competing Tuesday night were done differently than WWE would usually do them. They felt more produced, which also made them feel less genuine.
—Briggs had a new vest with a skull on the right shoulder. It looked like it might fall off at any moment.
—Williams did a good job playing the smaller competitor for once. It's hard to see a guy his size as an underdog, but Briggs helped him make it work.
—Williams' jumping knee from the middle rope looked awkward. He lowered his knee way too soon, so there was no impact from the hit to Briggs.
—Williams almost dropped Briggs during a powerbomb attempt, but they did a good job saving it.

Je'Von Evans vs. Tavion Heights

2 of 6
Worlds Collide

Myles Borne was shown talking to some Florida Gators college football players when Lexis King tried to get his attention. The segment ended with some friction but not violence.

Back in the arena, Tavion Heights took on Je'Von Evans.

Heights immediately scored a waistlock takedown and threw Evans around a bit to establish his power. He was wearing a mask after a training accident that involved Charlie Dempsey. Heights accused him of doing it on purpose during a backstage segment.

This was a match of power and mat skill against agility and speed. Heights tried to ground The Young OG whenever he could while Evans took to the air when an opening presented itself.

This match was a lot of fun and put two young, deserving NXT stars in the spotlight. Evans scored a clean win as Charlie Dempsey and Wren Sinclair looked on from ringside. Sadly, his celebration was cut short by an attack from Jasper Troy.

Result: Evans defeated Heights

Grade: B+

Notable Moments and Observations

—Charlie Dempsey does a good job of being just unlikeable enough to question his motives without going into full heel territory.
—We don't need so many themes that begin with a wrestler saying their catchphrase.
—The mask Heights was wearing looked like the kind they give serial killers in movies who have been caught and locked up.

Ricky Saints vs. Ashante 'Thee' Adonis

3 of 6
WWE Archive

Ricky Saints was finally cleared to compete and returned to action this week against Ashante "Thee" Adonis.

Saints took control right out of the gate with some strikes. He managed to maintain the upper hand until the show went to a commercial.

We returned to see Adonis in the driver's seat. He hit a fireman's carry slam the announcers called The Cash Out for a quick two-count.

This match didn't last much longer once the show was back. Saints scored the win with his Ro Sham Bo but was immediately attacked by Ethan Page.

The bout wasn't long enough to be much of anything since a large portion of it took place during the break, but everything they did looked good.

Result: Saints defeated Adonis

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

—It has never felt like WWE knew what it wanted to do with Adonis. Ever since the original stable with Swerve Strickland ended, he has been like a man without a country.
—It's surprising WWE would let someone use a move that is so close to the AA.

Tony D'Angelo vs. Channing 'Stacks' Lorenzo (Heritage Cup)

4 of 6
NXT

Oba Femi came to the ring and said he is ready for a new challenger, and it was quickly answered by Inamura. After a brief interaction, Troy attacked Inamura and got in Femi's face.

The next match saw Tony D'Angelo take on Stacks for the Heritage Cup, which had to be vacated by Noam Dar due to an injury.

Stacks had three generic henchmen with him, but his former friend was not intimidated.

The Don went right after his ex-righthand man, but Stacks brought some aggression to the ring, too. The first round ended without a fall. The Don got the first decision shortly after the second round started.

Stacks was close to getting a fall but failed before the third round was over. He tied it up at 1-1 by going after the knee Tony D was favoring. Luca Crusifino finally showed up in D'Angelo's corner as the fifth rough began.

Luca accidentally hit Tony D with a bucket while fighting with one of Stacks' guys, allowing Stacks to get the pin and win the Heritage Cup.

While this match had some good stuff at times, it felt overbooked and predictable, especially with Crusifino costing The Don in the end.

The Don took out Luca after it was over, so their alliance may be over sooner than we think.

Result: Stacks defeated D'Angelo

Grade: C+

Notable Moments and Observations

—WWE should sign Inamura if he is willing to move to the company from Noah permanently. He has gained a lot of fans.
—It feels almost impossible for Stacks and Tony D's gimmicks to work on the main roster as anything more than comedy characters.
—One of Stacks' associates took out Tony D's knee during the break.
—It was nice to see a younger guy using the Indian deathlock. It's an underrated submission hold.

Jordynne Grace vs. Izzi Dame vs. Jaida Parker vs. Lash Legend

5 of 6
NXT

This week's main event was a Fatal 4-Way to find Jayne's next challenger for the NXT women's title at Evolution on July 13. Grace, Parker, Dame and Legend all won qualifying matches last week to get here.

These are four of the strongest women in NXT, so it came as no surprise to see them having exchanges that saw them test their power against each other.

Legend seemed to be the most dominant competitor during the first half until she accidentally sent herself into the ring post.

Zaria and Sol Ruca came to take Tatum Paxley away for her own good, leaving Dame without the backup she planned on having.

Grace ended up getting the win by pinning Parker. It looked like Legend might pull off the victory, but The Juggernaut emerged as the new No. 1 contender.

Result: Grace won

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

—Legend had some nice displays of strength in this one.
—The Tower of Doom spot needs to be retired for a while. It happens in every multi-person match now.

The Final Word

6 of 6

Obviously, we don’t expect every week of every show to be groundbreaking, but it’s hard to say that this week’s NXT was anything but the definition of mediocre.

Nothing was especially bad, but it felt like every match and segment was either rehashing something we have already seen, or too predictable to provide any excitement.

The women’s Fatal 4-Way was a nice showcase of four talents, and the TNA title bout had its moments, but none of the matches from Tuesday’s show stood out in a significant way.

NXT is preparing for both The Great American Bash and Evolution, so it has a lot of things going at once, but it still needs to make sure the weekly shows are worth watching.

This wasn’t a bad episode, but you wouldn’t have missed much if you skipped it.
