Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay fought for the second time at Summer Blockbuster. All Elite Wrestling

AEW Dynamite Summer Blockbuster 2025 Results, Winners, Live Grades and Highlights

Kevin BergeJun 11, 2025

For the second week in a row, All Elite Wrestling delivered a four-hour spectacle with Dynamite and Collision presenting Summer Blockbuster at the Theater of the Clouds at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland collided in a rematch from last year's Forbidden Door, hoping to resolve their issues in the ring.

Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada met in the ring to sign the contract for their much anticipated clash at All In. What would both have to say?

"Timeless" Toni Storm clashed with Julia Hart in a non-title bout, with Mercedes Moné watching closely on commentary.

Thekla continued to show off what she could do in her second match in AEW, this time fighting Queen Aminata.

Tay Melo returned to team with Anna Jay for the first time in years in a personal tag team bout against Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford.

MJF was set to team with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin to hurt the alliance of "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight and Komander.

Anthony Bowens hoped to make his name against Kyle Fletcher, while Místico looked to dazzle the world in his AEW in-ring return.

This was set to be a wild night, promising action that would live up to the Summer Blockbuster name for four hours straight.

Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay

1 of 14
WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite

Swerve Strickland had Will Ospreay on the ropes, setting him up for an apron Swerve Stomp. However, the 30-minute time limit hit before he could land it.

The Mogul demanded a sudden-death finish, but The Death Riders interrupted. They distracted Swerve to allow a Young Bucks sneak attack.

They handcuffed Swerve for a series of superkicks and then pulled out his custom boots with thumbtacks. Ospreay took the thumbtack superkick for Swerve before an official came to check on The Aerial Assassin.

This was an incredible opener. Swerve went after the arm of Ospreay, while The Aerial Assassin injured the leg of The Mogul.

They tested each other and built the pace to a furious high that nearly reached its climax, only to be paused by the time limit.

It was the right call to sell an eventual third bout on a major stage down the line. For now, they earned each other's respect again to set up a likely team-up against The Young Bucks.

The final big shot of Ospreay taking the fall to protect Swerve was a perfect memorable shot to set up another huge match for All In.

Result

Swerve vs. Ospreay goes to a time-limit draw.

Grade

A+

Notable Moments

- The show started with Christopher Daniels warning "Hangman" Adam Page that he needs more friends. The Death Riders followed him into the arena.

- Swerve kept countering the Os-Cutter, but after a short-arm scissor counter, Ospreay lifted him for a vicious corner inverted back suplex.

- The Mogul caught The Aerial Assassin with a surprise Deadeye, but Ospreay recovered to hit the Hidden Blade for a near-fall.

- Ospreay countered the House Call into the Hidden Blade followed by the Storm Breaker for another wild near-fall.

- Prince Nana tried to save Swerve after the Bucks' attack, but he took a superkick.

- Later, The Young Bucks tried to clear things up with Hangman, who told them to stay out of his, Ospreay's and Swerve's business.

Místico vs. Blake Christian (w/ Lee Johnson)

2 of 14
UFC 282: Ponzinibbio v Morono

Místico had Blake Christian on the ropes throughout beyond a brief interruption from Lee Johnson that almost cost him the match. He hit a Spanish Fly for the win.

Afterward, MJF came out to challenge El Príncipe de Plata y Oro and reveal he was bringing back the red, white and blue for his match.

Místico warned MJF mostly in Spanish that he would not beat him in Arena México before The Hurt Syndicate struck. "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight and Máscara Dorada made the save.

This wasn't much of a match, especially by AEW standards, but that was never the point. The goal was to give Místico a win and set the stage for his huge battle with The Salt of the Earth in Mexico City next week.

The stage is set, and hopefully El Príncipe de Plata y Oro will make MJF pay for his words with action when it matters most.

Result

Místico def. Christian by pinfall.

Grade

C

Notable Moments

- The Hurt Syndicate attacked Komander backstage. MJF ripped off his mask and spat on it.

- Johnson protected Christian by distracting Místico for a dive to the outside and 450 splash for a near-fall.

- Streamers flooded the ring as the U.S. flag came down from the rafters.

- MJF threw out the "Sin Cara" name after he realized his new rival had insulted him in Spanish.

The Hurt Syndicate vs. 'Speedball' Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight and Máscara Dorada

3 of 14
WRESTLING: OCT 30 AEW Dynamite/Rampage

Máscara Dorada was a late substitute to help the babyfaces after a backstage attack on Komander, but he looked right at home in the wild action.

After the high-flying trio had taken out Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, MVP caught "Speedball" Mike Bailey with his cane to set up a hammerlock DDT by MJF to win.

Afterward, The Salt of the Earth continued the disrespect by ripping off Dorada's mask. Místico made the save and made MJF tap out to La Mística.

This was a fun trios match that showed what The Hurt Syndicate could do with Speedball and Kevin Knight down the line with more time and greater stakes.

It was also another showcase of how good Dorada is, and he should continue to be featured on AEW television past next Wednesday's Grand Slam: Mexico.

MJF needed this win to set him up as a threat to Místico while Bailey and Knight can still earn their way to an AEW Tag Team Championships shot in the future.

Result

MJF, Lashley and Benjamin def. Bailey, Knight and Dorada by pinfall.

Grade

B

Notable Moments

- MJF wore MVP-inspired gear to crowd chants of "You look stupid!".

- The Salt of the Earth pulled out the MVP Ballin' Elbow but missed. MVP barely held back a laugh afterward.

- Lashley and Benjamin were unfazed by the superkicks of Speedball, and Knight then laid them out.

Jon Moxley Warns 'Hangman' Adam Page to Shape Up Before All In

4 of 14
WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage

The Death Riders dragged "Hangman" Adam Page out to the ring with his hands bound and mouth gagged with duct tape.

Jon Moxley explained that he did this to have The Cowboy's complete focus. He advised him to find whatever he is still searching for before All In to give him his best shot with the world title on the line.

The Opps made the run-in to save Hangman, who then warned The Death Riders that he would take the head of the first Death Rider he found Wednesday night.

Short and sweet, this worked perfectly as the next stage in this much-anticipated AEW World Championship clash.

While The Opps took a little too long to make the save, the logic of the segment was sound overall following the injury earlier to Will Ospreay.

If the pace continues like this, AEW may be able to hold off on the true in-ring mic battle for the show before All In, which is certain to be a major hype segment.

Grade

B+

Notable Moments

- With Ospreay hurt, Page had no friends to let anyone know he went missing for an hour backstage before his segment.

- Hangman tried to headbutt Moxley when he got too close.

TayJay vs. Megan Bayne and Penelope

5 of 14

Anna Jay and Tay Melo looked as confident together as they ever have, and this allowed them to get one up on Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford.

After Ford tagged in, Anna caught The Megasus with the Queen Slayer while Tay hit the Tay-KO in the ring for the victory.

This was a good tag match, helped by Tay working at as high a level as she ever has. It looked like she only got better in her time away.

Bayne remains heavily protected in this role, even when her team loses. TayJay survived by isolating Ford. The next time could go the other way.

This feud has kept all hopes for the AEW women's tag team division alive, and hopefully the championships will come soon.

For now, this rivalry feels like it still has some legs that could extend all the way to All In on July 12.

Result

Anna and Tay def. Bayne and Ford by pinfall.

Grade

B

Notable Moments

- Tay and Anna brought back their old TayJay theme for this reunion.

- Tay and Ford teased their past tag team history throughout this match.

- Bayne reversed the DD-Tay into the Fall From Grace, but Tay fought through into a heel hook.

Kazuchika Okada Unleashes Vicious Attack on Kenny Omega at Behest of Don Callis

6 of 14

Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada shook hands after signing the contract for their match for the newly unveiled AEW Unified Championship.

Don Callis interrupted as a distraction for The Rainmaker to attack The Cleaner from behind. Okada used a steel baton to strike his rival's abdomen.

Christopher Daniels tried to restore order as a stretcher was set up for Omega. Okada hit Omega with an elbow drop off the apron.

Did The Rainmaker need to join The Don Callis Family? No, but Callis has been involved with this feud many times over the years.

Whether this is a formal stable change or not, the actual content of this beatdown was incredibly effective. The difference between Omega vs. Okada in a past and now is the former's recent diverticulitis.

This makes The Cleaner look as vulnerable as he has ever been, setting the stage for a true babyface performance at All In where fans genuinely worry for his health.

This could well be the biggest match of All In, and the two need nothing beyond this segment to set the final hype.

Beyond that, the new championship look gorgeous. The Unified Championship name could be a little awkward long-term, but it makes sense in the moment with the Continental and International Championship set to be unified.

Grade

A-

Notable Moments

- Callis questioned Okada backstage about what made him worthy of his shot at Omega at All In. The Rainmaker brushed off Callis.

- AEW aired a video package to highlight the history of these two men throughout their time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

- The last elbow drop caused Omega to spit up blood. Callis then led Okada to leave through the crowd and into a waiting van.

Kyle Fletcher (w/ Lance Archer) vs. Anthony Bowens (w/ Billy Gunn)

7 of 14

Anthony Bowens was rolling until Lance Archer threw Billy Gunn into the barricade. The distraction allowed The Protostar to hit a sheer-drop brainbuster for the win.

This was the best singles match for The Pride of Professional Wrestling since his revamp. It looked like he consistently had The Protostar on the back foot.

This is not surprising with how good Fletcher has become. It's a shame that it was another predictable loss for The Pride of Professional Wrestling, though.

Bowens has shown he can hang with multiple high-level stars, but he is not winning those matches. His momentum is slowing, and he does not have a clear rival.

It is time to give The Pride of Professional Wrestling a clear rival who can help him build momentum in the ring and on the mic in future weeks.

Result

Fletcher def. Bowens by pinfall.

Grade

B+

Notable Moments

- Adam Cole joined commentary ahead of this match and scissored Daddy Ass after the match started.

- Bowens almost took the win with a Famouser.

- Fletcher teased the corner apron powerbomb, but Bowens fought back and planted him face first on the apron.

FTR Drives a Chaotic Scene and Takes a Shot at Atlantis

8 of 14

Carlos Cabrera tried to interview Atlantis with his son, Atlantis Jr., but FTR and Stokely Hathaway interrupted.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler tried to mock the legend and his boy, but Atlantis was not having it. A brawl broke out that led to Adam Cole, The Don Callis Family and Brody King to get involved.

The brawl between Harwood and Atlantis continued through the crowd while everyone else backed off.

This was a great follow-up to FTR's recent interaction with Atlantis Jr. It is a shame that it will not lead to Atlantis stepping into the ring just yet based on the tease, but perhaps AEW has bigger plans for this FTR angle into All In.

AEW has done significant work in making a big deal out of Atlantis Jr. but rarely showcased his legendary father. Cabrera did a great job selling his legacy.

The chaos showed how wild the balance of the locker room has become, particularly just how big The Don Callis Family is these days.

AEW could likely sustain a unique eight-man tag every week on Collision for the next year at this point.

Grade

B-

Notable Moments

- Harwood asked Atlantis whether FTR would have succeeded in the legends' time, mockingly stating it was the 1930s.

'Timeless' Toni Storm vs. Julia Hart

9 of 14
Women's Pro-Wrestling "Stardom"

Julia Hart and Skye Blue attacked Toni Storm before the match could begin.

Referee Aubrey Edwards threw out Blue while officials checked on The Timeless One.

While Hart had Storm on the ropes throughout, The Timeless One caught her with the Large Package for the victory.

Storm was still hurting after the result as Mercedes Moné entered the ring. She gave Storm a sniff before whispering in her ear and laying her out. Mina Shirakawa tried to make the save, but The CEO laid them both out.

This was a predictable match but a solid effort from all involved. Particularly, this was all about Hart, who dominated the action after the pre-match beatdown.

Storm had to win, but Hart looked great in defeat. Her heel run is working well for her so far in elevating her in-ring work.

Hopefully, this will be the last loss Hart and Blue have to suffer for a while as they need a credibility rebuild, particularly with the women's tag division growing.

Storm and Moné have teased physicality so far, but The CEO finally got the upperhand. Storm will need to answer back with style next week.

Result

Storm def. Hart by pinfall.

Grade

B-

Notable Moments

- Moné had a full meal this time around at her ringside seat.

- The CEO announced on X during the match that she would challenge for the CMLL World Women's Championship next week.

- Moné made Storm kiss her championship goodbye to end the segment.

- Backstage later, Zeuxis confronted The CEO and accepted her challenge for next week.

The Conglomeration vs. MxM Collection and Taya Valkyrie (w/ Johnny TV)

10 of 14

In an unofficial Conglomeration reunion, Tomohiro Ishii and Mark Briscoe teamed with Willow Nightingale in a wild conflict with Mark Madden, Mansoor and Taya Valkyrie.

After clearing the ring, Willow hit Taya with the Babe with the Bomb to win.

This was a simple, fun squash to keep Willow rolling on TV while she waits for her next big-match opportunity.

It feels like she and Kris Statlander are still waiting for some kind of payoff, but AEW has taken it slower than expected with both women.

The Conglomeration may not officially be back yet, but it just feels right for the group to work together like this.

More MxM Collection on television, even if they are mostly going to lose on the AEW roster.

Result

Willow, Briscoe and Ishii def. Madden, Mansoor and Taya by pinfall.

Grade

C+

Notable Moments

- Kris Statlander could not bring herself to watch the action after Willow made her entrance. After the match, Wheeler Yuta offered advice to Kris.

- Taya chopped Ishii, who was not interested and tagged in Willow.

- Willow was unafraid to scrap with anyone, including catching Mansoor with a Pounce and helping Ishii with a double superplex on Madden.

Bandido vs. The Beast Mortos

11 of 14

Bandido found a dangerous challenger in The Beast Mortos, who pushed him to his limit. However, the ROH world champion sealed the win with the Revolution Fly.

This was a fun lucha libre preview ahead of Grand Slam: Mexico. Beast Mortos and Bandido always deliver, so it was no surprise that they brought it together.

It was a surprise to not see LFI represented beyond Mortos, but AEW may still be uncertain if they can get Rush and Dralístico in Arena México.

It is a shame that Bandido will not be defending his ROH World Championship at Grand Slam: Mexico, but hopefully that show will give greater clarity to his direction going into Supercard of Honor and All In.

Result

Bandido def. Mortos by pinfall.

Grade

B

Notable Moments

- Mortos came out alone while Bandido came out with The Outrunners, but they headed to the back to leave this an even fight.

- Bandido almost got the win with a frog splash on Mortos.

- Mortos had too firm a grip and blocked the 21 Plex then almost won off a crucifix drop and lungblower.

'The Toxic Spider' Thekla vs. Queen Aminata

12 of 14
Women's Pro-Wrestling "Stardom"

Thekla struggled early to figure out Queen Aminata, taking a careful approach to lure her into a mistake.

The Toxic Spider managed to find that opening when it mattered most. A spider walk into a Spear and the Death Trap forced a submission.

It is too rare to see a wrestler with a style so defined that it stands out from anyone else. That is Thekla. Her careful technical approach is different from anyone in AEW.

It leads to a more measured pace with explosions of action like in this contest. Aminata took advantage of the pace by making every single move look like it hit hard.

The two understood the assignment as Aminata was looking to squash the spider that kept using the ropes to tie up and wear down her prey.

It felt like Thekla was bringing the best out of Aminata throughout, almost giving her too much by the end as it looked like The Toxic Spider might struggle to come back.

This is a match AEW could revisit at any time, especially with bigger stakes down the stretch.

Result

Thekla def. Aminata by submission.

Grade

B+

Notable Moments

- Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness may have hammered home the spider comparisons a little too much in describing Thekla's offense.

- Thekla used a version of the tarantula in the corner while staring menacingly into the camera.

- Backstage, afterward,. Kip Sabian showed Nick Wayne a special video package highlighting his Best of the Super Juniors run, ending in failure.

The Don Callis Family vs. Daniel Garcia and The Paragon

13 of 14

Lance Archer made the biggest impact in this contest as he saved his teammates throughout. He caught Daniel Garcia with a boot to set up a suplex by Josh Alexander to win.

This was a solid finish to the night that made more of an impact than last week. In particular, The Murderhawk Monster was a force of nature saving the day throughout.

Alexander picked up a nice win to keep his momentum growing as he needs to keep the spotlight on him strong in the midst of this giant growing stable.

It feels like the biggest story of this feud right now is still Kyle Fletcher vs. Adam Cole, but they have not interacted nearly enough lately.

Beyond that TNT Championship match to come, Garcia feels a bit lost and could use a stronger foundation for his story, especially after All In.

Weekly similar tag matches are just not enough to kick these key stories up a notch, especially to sell it as more than filler in the main event slot.

Result

Alexander, Archer, Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero def. Garcia, Cole, Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly by pinfall.

Grade

B-

Notable Moments

- Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero came out to back up the team in the ring, showing how big The Family is.

- "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard joined commentary.

- Hechicero was confused by Garcia's dance but quickly took advantage by picking his leg.

- Alexander ran in to save Takeshita from the Dragon Slayer with a big boot, setting off wild action as everyone got involved.

- All four face members locked in submission moves until Archer broke out of O'Reilly's guillotine choke and began saving everyone.

- After the match,, Schiavone announced a 12-man tag of The Don Callis Family and FTR vs. Cole, Garcia, Brody King, Atlantis Jr., Templario and Bandido.

Overall Show

14 of 14
New Japan Pro-Wrestling
Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega have a long history between them.

This was a stronger four-hour show than last week, helped by a better emphasis on the women's division and some great story focus for the main All In angles.

Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay was the bar no one could reach after the opener, but that is because few can match them on any week.

Still, Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada may have stolen the show in terms of story development, selling that The Cleaner is in serious trouble come All In.

"Timeless" Toni Storm continues to deliver in every way. Tay Melo and Anna Jay looked great together again. Thekla gave a real showcase of her in-ring talent this week.

This was a night when it felt like anything could happen, and even if the surprises were limited, the stories were strong throughout the program as was the pure in-ring action.

Once AEW has fully established the direction for the rest of the Don Callis Family, all the pieces will be in place to sell All In as must-see.
