Darian Mensah, Malachi Toney's Box Score Stats, Highlights, Heisman Hype from Miami's Blowout

Two Miami stars might have improved their Heisman Trophy odds during a Thursday night win over Florida A&M.

Quarterback Darian Mensah and wide receiver Malachi Toney combined for multiple highlight-reel plays while leading the Hurricanes to a 49-0 first-half lead.

After running back Mark Fletcher Jr. started out the game with a rushing touchdown, Mensah sent a deep pass to Joshua Moore for a 55-yard score on Miami's second offensive drive.

Mensah's next deep throw went to Toney, who evaded pressure from Florida A&M's Frank Callum to make a 52-yard catch on the Hurricanes' fourth offensive drive.

Toney finished off the possession by running in Miami's fourth straight touchdown and hitting the Heisman pose.

Mensah then connected with Cooper Barkate for his third passing touchdown of the game midway through the second quarter.

Toney and Mensah were already considered favorites to be named the top player in college football before showing off their arm strength and speed, respectively, against Florida A&M.

Mensah had improved his season-long passing percentage to 91 percent by the end of the first half.

Mensah and Toney will get their next shot at taking the Hurricanes closer to a potential College Football Playoff bid when Miami resumes ACC play next Friday at Wake Forest.
