Seth Rollins Wins Men's WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match After Fatu, More Interfere

Mike ChiariJun 7, 2025

Seth Rollins secured a world title opportunity whenever he chooses by virtue of winning the men's Money in the Bank ladder match at the Money in the Bank premium live event on Saturday.

Rollins emerged victorious from a stacked field, beating Solo Sikoa, La Knight, Penta, Andrade and El Grande Americano.

In a long and chaotic match filled with near-misses and high-risk moments, it wasn’t until a shocking appearance by Jacob Fatu and JC Mateo that the momentum dramatically shifted.

With the path clear, Sikoa looked poised to claim the briefcase. After receiving help to set up the ladder, he began his ascent—but just as his fingers brushed the contract, he was yanked violently to the mat. The attacker? Fatu, who stared down at him and shouted, “I hate you!”—a betrayal that sent shockwaves through the crowd.

The stunning turn opened the door for Seth Rollins, who pulled himself back into the ring and began setting up the ladder. As he climbed, LA Knight tried to intervene, but Rollins fended him off, clearing his path. Seizing the moment, Rollins scaled the ladder and unhooked the briefcase, securing the win in dramatic fashion.

To set the field of the men's Money in the Bank ladder match, a series of Triple Threat qualifying matches took place on Raw and SmackDown in the weeks leading up to the PLE.

Sikoa defeated Jimmy Uso and Rey Fenix, Knight beat Aleister Black and Shinsuke Nakamura, Penta took down Chad Gable and Dragon Lee, Rollins outlasted Sami Zayn and Finn Balor, Andrade bettered Carmelo Hayes and Jacob Fatu, and El Grande Americano upset CM Punk and AJ Styles.

Much of the men's Money in the Bank field was made up of Superstars who have yet to get their first taste of world championship gold in WWE.

Neither Sikoa nor Penta have held a title of any kind on the main roster, so the Money in the Bank ladder match represented a massive breakout opportunity for both of them.

While Knight is a two-time United States champion, he has fallen just short in numerous attempts to become world champ, giving him even more incentive to secure the Money in the Bank contract.

Andrade is a former United States champion in his own right, and he was also looking to reach the next level by earning a world title shot.

El Grande Americano is new on the scene, although Chad Gable—who is believed to be portraying him under a mask—is a multi-time tag team champion who has yet to win a singles title aside from the WWE Speed Championship.

Rollins was in a completely different category from most of his opponents, as he is a five-time world champion and one of the most successful and decorated Superstars in WWE history.

Despite that, he stressed the importance of winning Money in the Bank due to the power he would wield by doing so.

Rollins is now a two-time Mr. Money in the Bank, and the fate of WWE's world title scene is now very much in his hands.

With Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman backing him, it seems like it is now a matter of when rather than if The Visionary becomes world champion for a sixth time.
