Deion Sanders Announces 'PRIME TIME' Netflix Series to Debut in 2026 in New Video
Deion Sanders is bringing his story to a streaming audience.
The Colorado Buffaloes head coach announced on Wednesday that a new series centered around the NFL Hall of Famer's life will be coming to the streaming platform Netflix in 2026.
"Prime Time is going prime time in Netflix in 2026," Sanders said in a promotional video for the series.
The series was described as "an in-depth look at one of pro sports’ most electrifying and polarizing figures" and will describe his journey from two-sport phenom to eventual "culture-defining coach" and his massive media appeal.
“It means so much to finally be able to tell my unfiltered story, my TRUTH," Sanders told Christopher Hudspeth of Netflix.com. "I was PRIME TIME, then I dropped the TIME and went by PRIME, and now I’m in the third quarter of my life and they call me COACH PRIME. Y’all knew a part of me each step of the way, but you never knew DEION … and I’m excited to share that with you all — the highs and lows, the truths and tragedies, and everything in between. They can’t stop or contain what God has purposed.”
Hudspeth revealed that the documentary will be three, 60-minute episodes and the production is currently underway. It will also delve into some "personal aspects" of Sanders' life, including his relationship with his biological father as well as "surviving an attempted suicide attempt" and "near-death health scares."
Sanders had a 14-season NFL career and a nine-season MLB career. He is the only player to have played in a Super Bowl and a World Series.
He would embark on a career in media following his retirement before joining the coaching ranks. He notably coached his sons in high school and would continue to coach them at Jackson State and eventually Colorado.
His sons Shilo and Shedeur have both gone on to the NFL and he will now hope to lead the Buffaloes to a strong season in the Big-12.
While a month or day for the release is not yet known, fans will soon get to know Sanders' in a new light.
