Tiger Woods Makes April Fools' Post About Playing in 2025 Masters amid Achilles Injury
If you aren't paying attention to the date on the calendar, Tiger Woods gave you hope that he would be playing in the 2025 Masters less than one month after undergoing surgery on his Achilles.
In an April Fools' Day post on X, Woods joked that his doctors and trainers have him ready to play at Augusta next week.

Even with incredible advances in modern medicine, the 49-year-old would need superhuman-like ability to get anywhere close to peak condition for any tournament.
Woods announced on March 11 he underwent surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles that occurred when he began to ramp up his at-home training and practice regimen.
There was no official timetable for recovery given in that statement, so before he acknowleged the joke, Woods might have only needed four weeks to get back in golf shape.
Realistically, though, he is just now getting to the point when he might be able to put weight on his left leg. People who undergo surgery to repair an Achilles injury are typically immobilized for three to four weeks, with a six-to-nine month timeframe to return to all physical activities.
Even if you account for Woods having resources and access to the best medical staff and rehab tools in the world, a four-week timetable would basically make him Captain America or Iron Man.
Speaking to reporters from the Hoag Classic on March 21, Fred Couples did say his text exchanges with Woods have been very positive despite the injury.
"He's in great spirits for a ruptured Achilles. ... He'll be fine," Couples said. "It's such a bummer because people think, ‘When's he going to play?' He was scheduled to play a few events, not a ton, but a few. And you know his mother's passing away would slow anyone down. But he's my man, and texting him is a lot of fun."
This will mark the first time Woods has missed the Masters since 2021 when he was recovering from serious leg injuries sustained in a single-car crash in Los Angeles.
Woods hasn't played in a PGA Tour event since July 2024 at the Open Championship. He did participate in the inaugural TGL season at the start of this year as a member of the Jupiter Links Golf Club prior to his Achilles injury.
The 2025 Masters will begin on April 10 at Augusta National Golf Club.
