Elena Rybakina Beats Aryna Sabalenka to Win 2026 US Open Women's Final Bracket

Elena Rybakina is a first-time U.S. Open champion.

Rybakina claimed a 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 win over two-time reigning champion Aryna Sabalenka to claim the women's singles title Saturday in Queens.

Rybakina, who clinched the world No. 1 ranking in the quarterfinals, started out her first U.S. Open final strong as her backhand made the difference in the first set.

Sabalenka fought back by slamming down a putaway shot to gain a 6-5 lead in the second set.

She sent the match to a decisive frame when Rybakina ended the set by shanking a forehand into the net.

Rybakina and Sabalenka each went into the third set having won 71 total points.

Sabalenka took the first game of the decisive set before Rybakina responded by rattling off two holds and a break.

Rybakina ultimately played a drama-free final set before closing out the win with her 12th ace of the match.

Sabalenka, a five-time major winner, was playing in her fourth straight U.S. Open final. She lost the 2023 tournament to Coco Gauff before winning consecutive titles over Jessica Pegula and Amanda Anisimova.

The loss drops Sabalenka's overall record in Grand Slam finals to 4-5.

Rybakina is now a three-time major winner. She won her second Grand Slam title by defeating Sabalenka in the Australian Open final earlier this year.
