Some of the biggest teams from across the Americas will clash against one another when the 2015 Gold Cup gets underway on Tuesday, with a place at the 2017 Confederations Cup at stake.
The winner of this year's competition will face off against the winner of the 2013 Gold Cup, the United States, in a playoff fixture to decide who will be heading to Russia in two years.
In the event Jurgen Klinsmann's side should clinch this year's Gold Cup, they will automatically qualify for the 2017 Confederations Cup, hoping at that stage to be preparing for the 2018 World Cup.
On the eve of the 2015 Gold Cup kickoff, we provide full tournament details, including group table, streaming information, fixture information, latest betting odds and preview of which title contenders to watch out for.

United States
Looking to follow up on the success of their female counterparts at this year's Women's World Cup, the United States enter the 2015 Gold Cup with eyes set on a staunch title defence.
As joint-hosts, Klinsmann's men couldn't hope for a much more advantageous forum in which to do it. They recently geared up for the contest with a 4-0 drubbing of Guatemala. ESPN's Paul Carr pointed out a particularly good omen to emerge from that win:
"Final: #USMNT wins 4-0. Team's biggest shutout win since a 6-0 win vs Guatemala in final tune-up for the 2013 Gold Cup (which U.S. won).
— Paul Carr (@PCarrESPN) July 4, 2015"
There has been a recent disturbance in the USA camp, however, after Michael Bradley was handed the captain's armband following Clint Dempsey's recent red card on club duty against the Portland Timbers.
But while Dempsey no longer poses the leadership role, per se, his coach still admits he's an essential part of the United States' make-up, with Klinsmann quoted by Fox Soccer's Kyle McCarthy as saying:
"I think it was just important to take the heat off of Clint. It was a dramatic moment for him. I just saw it on the Internet -- I was still in Europe after the two games in Holland and Germany. It’s nothing you want to go through and he knows that. It was his first red card ever. At the age 32, that’s quite amazing. I was at a different number at that time.
"
Dempsey's moment of madness, where he ripped up the notebook belonging to referee Daniel Radford in response to him sending off Seattle Sounders' Michael Azira, could ultimately work in favour of the USA.
The hot-tempered "Deuce" has the potential to inspire his side to back-to-back tournament wins and without the added burden of captaincy, we may yet see the Sounders star revive his best in Group A and beyond.

Costa Rica
As one of the seeded teams, Costa Rica find themselves in Group B, tucked away from the United States and Mexico for the time being with high chances of making it to the latter stages of the contest.

Last year's run to the 2014 World Cup Quarter-finals, where it was an agonising penalty shootout defeat to the Netherlands that saw them leave the competition, showed just how stubborn the Central Americans can be.
However, it's now Paulo Wanchope's side to try and push his former team in a major tournament, and Group B opponents El Salvador, Jamaica and Canada could be tricky customers.
Nevertheless, ESPN Tri have tipped the side as one of those to watch out for in the title run, hoping to assert some dominance over their continental rivals:
Tactics will play a grand part in Wanchope's plan as the fine work of Jorge Luis Pinto tinkering with a five-man defence was to be thanked for their run in Brazil.
Mexico
Miguel Herrera takes his Mexico team north of the border as very slim favourites to clinch the Gold Cup title this month with a favourable draw handed to them in Group C.
There they find themselves opposite Trinidad and Tobago, Guatemala and Cuba, which Ives Galarcep of Goal.com believes could have them bound for a route to the Philadelphia final on July 26:
Having held a vast majority of his greater talents back from the Copa America in order to challenge for the Gold Cup, Herrera will feel his chances of victory in North America are strong.
However, one star he'll have to make do without is Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, who was confirmed as an absentee last week after suffering injury so close to the competition:
It puts a greater emphasis on the likes of Oribe Peralta, Giovani Dos Santos and Carlos Vela to be the heroes up front, with El Tri still boasting a wealth of resources in attack.
This month will show fans whether or not the Mexico boss was right to hold his European stars back from the Copa America in Chile, with the pressure now on their shoulders to produce a trophy.
